2014: Second Best Year of My Life

The Year That Mixed Passion, Performance, and Learning

So much can be said about the year that did a lot for me

2014...... Damn, what an amazing year. There were definitely lows but a lot of highs came after that. January of this year came and I was getting the sour taste of 2013 out of my mouth. It wasn't easy to do but it got easier when I went back to school. It started quietly at first but after I did the play, Tuna Does Vegas as one of the stage crew members, I had a feeling that things were just getting started.

That was the winter. When spring started, that's when everything was full of crazy awesomeness. I passed my classes and I was back but this time, I was taking an acting class and it was amazing! Not only was I in a play—and this was a different play—but I was in a class full of awesome people that were going to be in the play with me and it just gets better from there. I was in the same play with even more awesome people, plus I even genuinely fell in love with two gals. Basically if one didn't work out, then I'd have someone to fall back on.

Anyway, whenever I wasn't in classes, I was hardly doing homework because I was hanging out with friends so much and all we were doing was goofing off, getting food, practicing our lines, and bonding while we laid on the couch. We just did so much. It honestly felt like we became The Avengers since we were all spending so many different ways to spend time with each other. We even ended up going to school events. One event in particular was what stuck us together and it was watching The LEGO Movie.

After seeing The LEGO Movie, we were comparing each other to characters—like they told me I was Benny, plus I know how to sound just like Charlie Day (Horrible Bosses, Pacific Rim). Then eventually, we got so neck deep in hanging out with each other, we did a movie/book tournament with the characters to see who'd come out on top. It was easily one of the best times I had that year.

When the play's run was done, we still hung out a lot because we had such a good time together. I had one friend introduce me to skimboarding and it was fun. I ended up hurting my back but it was nothing but a great time. We had nothing but sleepovers and adventures when it was all of us hanging out together.

Then, when we found out that one of our friends had a birthday, we ended up doing a small get together but it was a huge event for us because we're always ready to hang out with each other so we started small by doing cake and ice cream at the park. We ended up hanging out at the park for about two hours and when it was time to pack everything up, we went to our friend's place nearby since her parents were out of town.

What a night! We stayed up all night watching horror movies even though I hate horror movies but it was such a good time. After that, we kind of finished the summer strong and went to a water theme park but before the day came, we HAD to spend the night with each other again.

The next day, after the water theme park, we ended up going out for pizza at a restaurant which was pretty much capping the summer and letting us know that we were about to not see each other all that much anymore since it was going downhill from there but 2014 was such an amazing time. I'd definitely go back to that time again just to experience that kind of fun.
