30 Questions for a Deeper Connection!

You think you know someone well but how can you be sure? If you read through the questions below and can't answer the questions about some of your closest friends or family, then perhaps you can use these to get to know the real them. I have a similar post to this one but this goes deeper into a person's mind—so we can consider this PART 2. Please read that one if you want to find questions that will keep a conversation going.

Life is meant to be shared with people closest to you. Hopefully this might help you understand the people in your life better. Things that people may not say unless asked. You should ask. Or maybe you want to talk about these things with people, but never found the right moment, in which case introducing them to these questions can spark the conversation. Both can answer each question and you can compare the way each of you thinks and feels.

Below are my top 30 questions to ask if you want to get to know someone on a deeper level:

1. What do you think your purpose in life is?
2. What would you change about your past?
3. What keeps you going in tough times?
4. Is there life after death?
5. Who do you love most?
6. What makes you most angry?
7. When did you last cry?
8. Do you have friends you can trust?
9. Who do you turn to when things go bad?
10. Share the first memory you have of each other. What was their first impression of you?
11. Has that now changed?
12. Are you happy with your career choice?
13. If you could wish for anything right now, what would it be?
14. Would you want a relationship like the one your parents have?
15. What would you change about your upbringing?
16. Have you ever experienced heartbreak?
17. What kinds of people do you get along with most?
18. Do you suffer from any mental illnesses?
19. Have you ever felt like you've needed to talk to a therapist?
20. What is something you don't share about yourself?
21. Do you like hugs? Are you an affectionate person?
22. What do you tell yourself when you're feeling down?
23. What do you look forward to in the future?
24. Would you adopt children?
25. Is giving second chances worth it?
26. What do you do when you're home alone?
27. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
28. Are you lonely?
29. Describe how you feel in one word.
30. Why do you want a deeper connection with this person?

I could go on and on but I think that is enough for one post, but you can carry on the conversation with what you have already learnt about each other. There is always more to discover. Use this as a beginning to many more deep conversations with your favourite people. Enjoy the time you have with them and use the time wisely by understanding them inside out.
