5 Signs That You Are an Introvert

If you relate to all these 5 signs, you're probably an introvert.

Introverts tend to keep their thoughts and feelings inside.

Growing up, did you ever feel like you were different? You didn't talk much in school? People often asked, "Why are you so quiet?" If so, you're probably an introvert, just like me. Here are 5 signs that only introverted people can relate to.

1. You enjoy being alone, by yourself, away from other people.

For you, staying home on a Friday night is okay. You enjoy it more than going out; in fact, you may be looking forward to it. Watching Youtube videos or Netflix and chill. For introverts, Netflix and chill really mean watching Netflix and unwind. Or maybe you like playing video games, cooking some food, drawing a picture or just reading a book. Whatever it is, solo activity is always your preferred activeness, you do it as much as your time schedule allows you to. It may sound weird to others but you feel good when you're alone; that's the time when you actually are free.

2. Being center of attention is not your thing.

If you are at work and for example need to talk to your boss about some ideas you had after a meeting, you'd rather pull him/her to the side and have a one-on-one conversation with your boss explaining your ideas and thoughts. As an introvert, you crave intimate moments and deep conversations, and those are rarely found in crowds.

3. You rather write your thoughts than to speak them.

If you are like me, you're introverted and hate to speak on the phone. You'd rather text your friend rather than call her/him. Writing down your thoughts gives you time to reflect on what to say and how to say it so it comes out correctly. In fact, writing allows you to edit your thoughts. In other hands, typing your thoughts into your phone and sending it to a friend is way less of a burden than to actually say them in real life.

4. Phone calls just aren't for you.

Have you ever gotten a phone call on your way to your job or similarly in a public transportation and decided to not answer? If you have, you're probably an introvert! I don't know what it is but I hate talking on the phone in public places when strangers are around, partly because I hate small talks like, "Hey, what's up?" but also because I don't feel comfortable with having these small talks around strangers. I usually watch the phone ring, wait till it's done, and then message back the person who called with something in the lines like, "Oh sorry, my phone was on silent," or "Sorry, I was in the bathroom and my phone was laying on the couch," just to avoid talking in public. It's not that we are afraid of making small talk, we just rather chose not to.

5. You don't go to parties with the intention to meet new people.

As much as introverts hate big crowds, we still like to go out once in a while. But when we do, we usually don't go with the intention of making new friends. We have our small circle of like two to three friends that we are content about because we only have so much "energy" to spend on others so we chose our friends carefully.

Did any of these sign fit into you? Then you're probably an introvert!
