Just a little note...

I know it may bore or upset you but if you want to read my stories about this, then you are in the right place.

For deaf people who may have a different life experience and wants to complain, then do not waste your time. We all have different life experiences and different stories. I am just sharing my experience and helping myself to get negative feelings off my chest. Also, I just wanted to help others too.

For parents who have a deaf child, perhaps I can help you with that. Advices and tips etc. Do not worry about anything rash. You will be fine. Your child will be fine. As long as you will know what to do. Just read these stories of "A Broken Silence."

Foreword

A Broken Silence is about living in a silent life.

There are many descriptions/explanations about what "Deafness" is. Also, many types of "Deafness" too.

  • deaf·ness (def'nĕs)

General term for loss of the ability to hear, without designation of the degree or cause of the loss.

  • deafness [def´nes]

Hearing loss; lack or loss of all or a major part of the sense of hearing. For types, see under hearing loss.

From the Free Dictionary by Farlex.

Hope these are useful for you to understand their meanings. There are many types of deaf people such as deaf-mute, deaf-blind, deaf-sign, and well-spoken deaf etc. I am well-spoken deaf with very, very little knowledge of sign language which I have given up long ago (will mention that in the future stories).

I just wanted to get my voice to be heard because NO ONE would understand how I feel, NO ONE. No one would experience the "Silence Life" ever, although some people would experience if they damage their hearing. I just wanted to make this clear that we are NORMAL. WE are human beings. We are just some people who have a broken "bone" in our bodies. We can speak from our minds and hearts. We use our actions more than words. Action speaks louder than words which is an old saying and imperative meaning for our lives.

To be honest, "Human" is a perfect, better word for us all rather than "Deaf person" or "Hearing person."

I am just a "Lauran," a daughter, a mother, a partner, a creative designer, a beauty consultant and much more I can do with my skills and knowledges. Not a "Deaf Lauran" (which I will tell in the future stories).

I always ask my parents if they understand my frustrations, unfortunately they never will because they are not me. Me means deaf.

Hope this foreword will interest you and you will continue to read my life stories.
