A Night at the Fair

I am standing in the middle of a fair. I look around and I see the colors of the rainbow almost on everything, and flashing lights. I smell the turkey legs and the funnel cakes in the red and white vendor stations. I see my favorite ride. I think I might get on it later. My parents dropped me off and told me to be safe, and that was about 30 minutes ago. I was supposed to be meeting my friends in the entrance of the carnival, but they were taking too long so I decided to walk around. My senses are heightened because you are supposed to be alert when you are on your own.

The line for my favorite ride is long. The ride is called the Himalayas. It's blue and white and it has fake snow in the middle of it and a disco ball. Its a two person ride and it goes around in a circle and some of them goes backwards. I wait in line for about ten minutes. I get to the front of the line and I feel very sick. My tongue feels dry and my stomach starts cramping. I feel like I'm going to pass out. The feeling has me feeling like I have anxiety. The ride stops. The guy opens the gate. I approach the seat and this guy gets in beside me. He is six feet. He has curly black hair with blonde tips and I can see every piece in his head. He is light skin and he has pearly white teeth. He introduces himself to me. He says his name is Kris. The ride starts. The song that is playing is called "Can't Tell Me Nothing" by Kanye West. I sing along to the song, messing up the lyrics a couple of times. I start slowly bumping into Kris. By the end of the ride, I have fully pressed myself into Kris. He feels warm and friendly. He puts his arm around me and instantly I calm down. The ride stops and I proceed to get off. I suddenly fall forward and Kris is there to catch me.

It seems as if everything slowed to a stop and Kris is asking me something but I cannot hear him. I start to think to myself that I have lost one of my senses. But that was my imagination. Kris asked me if I was okay. For the rest of the night Kris is with me. I text my friends to see where they are at but they are not answering, so I just decide to have a good time with Kris. The next ride we get on is called the American Dream. It is red, white, and blue. The little kid to the left of me is crying because she cannot get on the ride. Her parent tells her that when she gets older she can ride this ride.

The American Dream seems like it goes as far as a spaceship to the moon. But it stops halfway there. I am afraid of heights. Once I get on the ride, Kris grabs my hand and he says he is afraid of heights. I tell him that I am afraid of heights too. His hand feels warm even though the temperature is dropping. The ride starts and I shut my eyes and just listen to the wind whistling in my ears and the different walks of people around me screaming. I decide to open my eyes and look at all of the purples and blues as my eyes cross to try to see every color in the book. Most people say space is black. I saw black, white, red, blue and purple that night. I do not know whether it was the fast movements of the ride or just my senses giving out.

My alarm clock went off. I sprung upwards and woke up sweating. It all felt so real. But after me doing some breathing exercises to calm down, I realized that it was all just a dream. There was no Kris. The fair was coming in town tomorrow. I hoped that maybe Kris was real. Hopefully, I would meet him tomorrow and maybe my friends would actually make it on time.
