After Every Storm...

Comes a Rainbow

Honestly, where do I begin? My first post on here and there's so much to write, so much to say. I didn't want to start off with a sad post and talk about my feelings, like a diary. I didn't want to scare you guys off. I didn't want to be that person. So, let's start off with a love story and a positive outcome.

The story starts with two people meeting. The woman thought it was just going to be a fling—nothing too serious. She was in love with someone she hadn't even met. (We'll save that story for another time.) They started to date in 2011. The woman told herself she didn't want a boyfriend. She just wanted to date and flirt so she could get her mind off the guy she was in love with.

The man had a different plan. They went on their date. Nothing too big. A walk around the park and some flirting. At the end of the date, he got home and texted the woman he had a great time and was so happy she was his girlfriend. She was confused. He never asked her to be his girlfriend. She told him her plan.

He asked her to be his girlfriend via text and she accepted, even though she just wanted to date. One month went by and she couldn't believe the feelings she was feeling for this guy. She couldn't believe how fast she fell for him. She was indeed falling in love.

She was in love with two guys, but knew she had to make the ultimate decision of who to choose. So, she chose the guy she was dating. Then, the other guy she loved said he didn't want her to be with the guy she chose because he was in love with her. She said it was too late and chose to be with the guy she was dating.

Months went by and she still hadn't met the family. You want to know when she met his family? The day of his brother's memorial. Yup, I said it! His memorial. His sister tried so hard to like her. His mom was a mess because of the loss of her son. I have no idea how she did it! His grandmother didn't love her at first. She had no idea why. Everyone that had met her in the past loved her and every guy she dated—though she didn't date a lot of people—their mothers loved her as a daughter-in-law.

When the time was right, they got engaged. That same year, his grandmother passed away, so she never got to see him walk down the aisle. The year after, they decided to get married. They knew the time was right. They knew they were perfect for each other.

During the wedding planning time, she got pregnant. They were ecstatic. They decided to take time off from wedding planning because of their child being on the way. Then she was having stomach pains, so she went to the hospital. They lost the baby. She miscarried. She had to get a special procedure done called a D&C. Two days after the D&C, she went back to the hospital for labor pains. She had to get an emergency D&C done again because the last doctor messed up the last procedure she got.

The women's favorite singer is Ed Sheeran. He had bought her tickets to see him at the Hollywood Bowl. They thought that was the perfect day to get married at the courthouse and then go see him in concert as a wedding present to themselves. When her mother found out they were going to do a court wedding, she refused, especially because she wasn't going to be able to go and see her daughter get married. But they still went to the concert that night—and what a magical night it was.

They had three days to plan a backyard wedding. Can you imagine how stressful it was? Three days! And she went to Disneyland the day before her wedding, because she had bought jewelry from someone who was supposed to meet her at a specific time but didn't make it until later that night. Three days! Yes, I'm emphasizing on the three days just a little too much. Oops.

Saturday came. The day of the wedding. Sixty people showed up to the wedding. They ordered cakes from their favorite bakery, Porto's. Simple colors—red, black, and white. They ordered chicken from a local grocery store and her family made rice and beans. (Typical Hispanic plate.) At the end of the night, it started to rain. Isn't it good luck if it rains on your wedding night?

The honeymoon wasn't really a honeymoon. They went to Vegas and got a suite. BUT—yes, that's a huge "but"—they went with her family and his mother and stepfather. Guess who stayed in their suite? If you guessed her in-laws, you guessed right! The only alone time they had was in the hotel room. The other times, they were hanging out with family.

She got pregnant again and they tried to hide the pregnancy this time. Due to stress and the passing of her grandfather, she miscarried again. They thought about not having children for a while and they seriously considered it. But with every storm comes a rainbow. It just so happens, they were pregnant for the third time and they found out on New Years Eve. Yes, New Years Eve.

Alas, their rainbow baby was born on September 12, 2016 at 42 weeks, a beautiful baby girl named after both of their grandmothers. The new mother never knew how much love she could give until she met her little girl and she cried and cried. Her husband cut the cord and they heard the most beautiful cry. Funny thing is, she was born 6 pounds 13 ounces. The new mommy's birthday is June 13. They're so in love with her.

Don't ever give up. There's always a positive outcome.

This is my story. Welcome.
