Validation in Quarantine
Why is it that people say when you have something on your mind, you should talk about it. When you talk about your feelings it will stop you from feeling the sadness that drowns you. I don’t feel that way. I feel like when I spiral in my head, I need to be with myself and not talk about it. When you talk about how you feel, there is a high chance of rejection, a high chance that the person who you are opening up to, won’t understand. That is why when you keep your feelings to yourself, you won’t have to deal with the rejection or the want and need of validation.

To All the Girls Who Think They Are Misunderstood
Sometimes I feel like I was born to be misunderstood. Not many people get how I can be someone who deals with anxiety, depression, or even self confidence and body image issues. Someone like me who’s always the loudest in the room (or tries to be), someone like me who lives to make other people laugh, or feels the utmost happiest when the people around her are happy. You can meet me on the street and never be able to tell that I battle with inner demons every single day. I think a lot of people feel unwanted in their every day life but don’t understand why or thinks that nobody else would understand it. Well, I do.

WISDUMB, All Your Favorite Music in One
Wisdumb is an indie rap group headed by Giovanni Quattrochi. Gio grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School, and was a Posse Scholar at Trinity College ‘12-‘16. Gio started Wisdumb with his childhood friend, Tom, when the two of them started competing in slam poetry competitions around NYC. Gio's introduction to hip-hop began when he was 4 years old, and listened to the soundtrack to Eminem’s 8-Mile on his walkman. Wisdumb takes influence from Eminem, and other rappers like MF DOOM, who perform under the pretense of a fictional persona. The biggest influence for Wisdumb is Kanye West, specifically his ability to juxtapose complex, sensitive subject matter with popular music and culture. Kanye started by doing this with "Jesus Walks", and continues to do it today with the topic of mental health. Wisdumb takes his experiences with mental health, and other obstacles he has faced, and puts it in the creative aspect of his music.
