The Things We Say
Something profound happened to me recently. It happened shortly after getting my second paycheck from my new job this past Christmas. I passed a stranger in a grocery store. He looked at me, nodded his head, and spoke three rather innocuous words; “How’s it goin’?” It was one of those questions we all ask, never really expecting a reply. It’s one of those weird things we do in society to show that we acknowledge the presence of another human being right before passing through their ‘personal space’ He was just being polite, I’m sure. Normally, I would just nod back, and answer with something like, ”Hey, what’s up?” or something equally benign and noncommittal.

I'm Just Gonna Say It!
Now, hear me out on this! I know I'm going to be in trouble after posting this. Big trouble! As in, if-you-see-this-guy-at-the-door-of-the-comic-con-don't-let-him-in kind of trouble. I know what I'm risking, here. My nerd cred is dangling by a thread, but my commitment to the truth of my nerdiness (nerditude?) is far too strong to just let this alone.

Fear the Walking Dead: 'This Land is Your Land' Review
This heart wrenching episode begins where the previous episode ends, with the people of the Otto Ranch holed up in an underground pantry after narrowly escaping a horde of walkers. We are quickly reminded that the ventilation system has somehow malfunctioned and that the oxygen supply is quickly dwindling. Alicia (played by Alycia Debnam-Carey) quickly, and rather unexpectedly, does the kind of advanced math that would qualify her to be a shoe-in for MENSA membership and determines that a mere two hours of oxygen remains before this temporary shelter becomes a permanent tomb. (Seriously, that kind of brain power and no one has thought to make chain mail zombie proof suits yet? Come on, people!) To make a bad situation even worse, we have also now discovered that several of the people in the pantry have been bitten.
