The Obsession with New Age Spiritual Bypassing
What is spiritual bypassing? The term "Spiritual Bypassing" was first introduced by Buddhist teacher John Welwood in the 1980's. To explain thoroughly, spiritual bypassing occurs when an individual becomes disillusioned using spirituality as a band-aid to disconnect from reality to create a "good vibes only" persona. When I first dove into spirituality I remember falling into this trap myself. I was following influencers who would preach "love and light" culture, making people believe that if they didn't exude happiness and peace at all times, on all fronts, that they were doing something wrong and in turn attracting "negative" events and situations into their life. This issue with this ideal is that, quite frankly, we are humans. In the human experience there are wide ranges of emotions, and wide ranges of experiences. These things can simply not be avoided. There will be times that we face loss, that we will grieve, we will feel anger, we will witness injustice, we will see things that need changing and we will recognize that the world around us is not "Good Vibes Only". If every human being throughout time used the spiritual bypassing mechanism, there would be no improvements in human rights, or equality, or even technological advances. If we all sat back and decided that everyone's life is spouting rainbows and roses, we would lose our ability to improve and to help one another and ourselves.

Mental Health Matters
Collectively humanity is finally moving forth from an era in which mental illnesses were regarded as imaginary ailments, into an era where we are being forced to recognize that mental health is no less important than physical health. According to the World Health Organization, upwards of 800,000 people a year will commit suicide globally. That is one person every 40 seconds. Why is it that during this time of acknowledging mental heath, we are seeing more suicides than ever before? Suicide.org estimates that global suicide rates have increased a whopping 60 percent within the last 45 years, and continues to increase. In the aftermath of suicide, it is not uncommon to hear friends and family express their overwhelming shock, explaining that their loved one seemed “so happy and full of life,” or “they seemed fine mere days ago." My prognosis is that, even though society has recognized that we have a global mental health crisis, collectively we are still failing to understand what it really means to live life with a mental illness. It is extremely difficult for someone who doesn’t fight this battle, to truly understand what it means to be on the frontlines.

The Celestine Prophecy, by James Redfield is a riveting adventure novel that uses the tale of one man's adventure through the virgin forests and ancient ruins of Peru in search of an ancient manuscript, which details an impending mass spiritual awakening on Earth. Not only does this manuscript predict a mass spiritual awakening, but it also lists the sequence in which it will happen at the individual level. The concepts of the insights cannot be grasped until the previous insight is fully understood... and the sequence is essential. Upon learning each Insight, you get a glimpse of a plethora of information that it seems you have suppressed some place deep in your soul, and the resonance of the knowledge comes flowing into you like ancient memories. The mystery of the Universe feels like less of a mystery and the steps forward seem refreshingly clear.

This novel provides prime situations and examples to outline the concepts of this philosophy, making it effortless and enlightening to grasp. This way of life recognizes the Universe itself as conscious energy that breathes life into all that is entailed within it. Not only is it conscious, it is effected by and responsive to our intentions. If, on a molecular level, quantum physics tells us that the Observer Effect proves that the results of experiments are directly effected by the intended outcome of the observer, then at what point do we question our energetic influence beyond the molecular level? Grasping these insights has shaken up much that was sleeping within me and I would be thrilled to do my part in sharing this knowledge with any and all who will also resonate with it.

Life with Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder affects as many as 60 million people worldwide. Bipolar is a lifelong chronic illness for which there is no cure. Someone living with this disorder will experience revolving episodes of depressive and manic behavior, each episode lasting for a week or more at a time. Due to the nature of this illness, many who are diagnosed as bipolar also have at least one other mental disorder diagnosis such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Dissociative Personality Disorder, PTSD, and Schizophrenia.
