Newfound Confidence
When I was the fifth grade, I remember being assigned the homework of creating my own fictional story. I was so excited but when it came time to write the story, the only thing I could think about was all the shows I had seen that weekend. So, I ended up taking the plots and resolutions from already developed stories and mashing them all together. I felt I had to add my own spin to the story to be special, so I added my favorite chorus line from my favorite movie at the time to the story. I decided when walking to school that Monday that was going to take it one step further and preform the song while presenting my story to the class.

Finding Henry
As the bus arrived that morning, I felt as if this day would be different. Oh, how I wish I was wrong; yet at the exact moment that the thought ran through my mind, the bus splashed through the puddle just four steps away from me at full speed. the once cute maroon business suit I picked out for the day was now soaked with the garbage left by fate. Yet as I lifted my arms to block my face from any flying debris, a briefcase came swinging at what I was sure to hit me square in the face, and instead it jammed my pointer finger so hard from impact I was sure it was broken, thus causing the random hero to remove his briefcase, and my face was, in fact, drenched with dirty gutter water and a flyer for bad Chinese food sticking to my beautifully applied makeup. I then felt his had remove the flyer and begin to pat dry my face with the softest thing I've ever felt. Almost as if he was trying to preserve what was left of my face, I opened my eyes and, to my surprise, he wasn't drop dead gorgeous, but instead average, with a flair for style, considering he was walking around with a silk handkerchief.
