Best Friend

Once upon a time, there was this young girl with long light brown hair and a smile that could brighten anyone's day. She sat on her front porch reading a book when all of a sudden a door slam distracted her from her reading. The girl looked over to see a tall boy with a white T-shirt and tattoos all over. He was standing in the doorway of the neighboring house and began to smoke a cigarette. He glanced over her way and they met eye to eye, but the girl quickly tried to start reading her book. The boy smiled and walked toward her and asked, "may I have the knowledge of your name?"

She looked at him from behind her book and said, "I'm sorry, I don't have a name."

He laughed and sat next to her and said, "well, then I shall call you 'no name.'"

The girl looked at him once again and asked, "Well, what is your name?"

The boy smiled and said, "You can call me the boy next door." He then got up, walked off, and the girl watched him walk down the street, till he was no longer visible.

The Computer Attempt

The next day, as the girl was making lunch for her and her mother, when there was a knock on the door. The girl's mother went to answer it. When she returned the boy next door was behind her. "Hi, no name, you think you can help me with something? I want to print a few things out of my Apple computer off your mom's printer, but it doesn't seem to work for me." The girl then gave her mother her lunch and made her way to help to the boy next door with his computer problem. A few minutes went by with complete silence, so the boy next door started to try to get the girl to tell him her real name. As she was about to actually tell him her name, her oldest brother walks in the room and greets the boy next door and they start talking among themselves. The girl then told the boy next door she had to get ready for work and would help him another day. The boy next door said okay and retrieved his computer, but then stopped the girl from going to her room and said, "Well, after your shift would you like to grab a bite to eat? I know a good place."

The girl looked at the boy, then to her brother, and replied with, "I'm sorry, I don't grab a bite to eat with my brother's friends." And off to her room she went.

The Approval

The boy next door went to his neighbor's house the next morning, but didn't ask for the girl, he asked to speak to her brother. The brother came outside and both boys sat down on the porch. The boy next door then reached into his pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes and offered one to his neighbor. As they were both smoking, the brother looked over to his neighbor and asked him, "What are you stressing over, man, talk to me."

The boy next door looked at the brother and said, "Man I really like your sister, but she won't give me the time of day because I'm friends with you."

The brother laughed and said, "Well, then I'll just have to beat you up so we won't be friends anymore."

They both laughed and the boy said, "No, man, seriously what could I do?"

The brother looked at his friend and said, "Hey dude, if you want to be with my sister, go ahead, but know if you hurt her then I will have to beat you up because she's my little sister, man, but I see you as good people." The boy next door was so anxious after he heard the brother say it was okay. He sat on his front porch waiting for the girl he liked so much.

The Kiss

As the girl was walking to her door, the boy next door stopped her in her tracks with a kiss. The girl slightly pulled away, and looking at the boy confused, she said, "uhh.. I'm sorry I can't do this my brother..."

The boy next door interrupted and said, "no, no, it's okay. I spoke to him already, he's okay with it, we could be together. I mean if thats what you want."

The girl looked at the boy and smiled and said, "I must go inside. I have things to do."

The boy grabbed her hand and pulled her close to him, looked her in the eyes, and said softly, "Will you be mine? My everything? You are all I think about." The girl silently pulled away from the boy and went inside her house. As she watched the boy next door through her window walk back to his house, she couldn't help but smile.

The girl walked to her mother in the kitchen and asked, "mother, what do you think of the boy next door?"

The mother turned around and said, "Well dear, he's okay I guess. I've only talked to him a few times, but he is not good enough for you. My beautiful angel, you need a smart man who could support you." The girl went to her room and went to bed.

Best Friend

The next night the girl laid in her bed restlessly. She tossed and turned, she was thinking about the boy next door. She liked him a lot, but hardly knew him. All of a sudden she started to hear clicking sounds. The girl looked toward her window where she saw rocks hitting it. She got up and went toward her window to see the boy next door by her window. The girl opened her window and said, "what on earth are you doing out here? It's late."

The boy next door laughed and said, "I couldn't sleep. You know you still haven't told me your name?" The girl laughed and said goodnight to the boy and started to close her window when the boy shouted, "wait! I have one more question!"

The girl stopped and said, "shhh! You are going wake up my mom!"

The boy said, "So what do you say, no name, would you like to be my girlfriend?"

The girl paused to think, then said, "how about we just be friends and get to know each other first? Then we shall see."

The boy next door smiled and said, "okay then you can be my friend first... my best friend."
