Coffee Love

A Short Story

Bright and early Monday morning, my Monday's usually suck but for some reason today I woke up happy and in a good mood.

"Goodmorning Callie!" yelled Casey.

"What time is it?" I asked, to which she replied, "8:00."

And let me tell you, I never wake up this early, not for anything. Today just feels so weird and it has barely even started for me. I live with my best friend, Casey, we have been best friends since we were about six or seven-years-old. We did our usual morning routine, and since we work in the same business we usually just ride together to work. But wait, we can never forget our morning coffee, and that stop was up next.

We parked in the parking lot of Cozy Coffee Shop, and went inside. The line was an okay line this morning, usually there are maybe 20+ people in line, but today only 5. Casey and I were talking about our plans tonight until it was our turn next to order.

"Hi welcome to—" a faint pause.

"Hi, can I get your order?" Asked the cashier.

At this point, this was the important part of my day, this is why my morning had been so off. I know fate is a crazy thing, but I think him and I can both agree some electrical shock went on when we locked eyes. It was exactly how they describe it in movies, but more special to me because this was towards me. He was beyond beautiful, brown hair and brown eyes, and his smile could have melted you like rain melts the wicked witch.

"Since my friend can't seem to say anything, I will order for us, can we both get a medium caramel latte?" asked Casey.

"...Sure thing!" said the cashier.

His name tag read "Tyler Cad."

Casey and I both went and sat in a "cozy" chair while waiting for our coffee.

"So? What was that?" asked Casey while looking at me like I had just killed a puppy.

"You didn't see it? the shock there? oh, please tell me I'm not going insane." I said.

The bell had rung meaning our coffee was done, usually people are suppose to go up to the deck and get it, but instead he brought it to us.

"I don't want to make this weird, but could I maybe get your number? We could go out or grab coffee sometime?" It took me a few seconds until I realized he was talking to me and not Casey, but then I replied, "of course!"

About two months later, we officially started dating, and let's just say the story is a very happy ending!

The End!
