'I'm Really Into You But...'
I'm 23 and the number of conversations I've had online with people I do not know probably surpassed the three-digit figure some time ago. Hundreds of matches and meaningless conversations later, I finally find another human being that I want to sustain a conversation with. That is where the problems really begin because once you start to get to know a person, you want to know more and I want to know more. After having had numerous conversations with him, meeting up and deciding to hang out sometime again and finally accepting and being assured that he was in fact into me, it happened. "I'm really into you but..." That's right, he'd gone out on a date and went home with somebody else. But that is okay, right? Because what can I say? I cannot say that I'm unhappy, or hurt, or that he should not have done it, because we aren't together. What is worse, he told me he was so into me that he thought I deserved the respect and honesty he had given me by actually informing me that he had done this. Was I angry? Yes. Did I cry? Yes. Did I still want to get to know him more and spend time with him? Yes. Unfortunately, I did.

In February 2012, I came out as a gay man. Since then, I've only been in two serious relationships. Neither of them lasted and I would love to change that. I understand that everyone has busy schedules and whatnot. When I was working, I hardly had any time to date. I'm on so many different dating sites that I haven't had any luck finding the right guy. However, it doesn't mean that I stopped trying to look for love. I just can't date any and everybody. No one can date the world. I have to search for a man who shares similar interests as I do and also is accepting of me and my friends. Below is a list of things you need to know about me if you're thinking about being in a serious long-term relationship with this awesome cosplayer and unapologetic nerd.
Mark Wesley PritchardPublished 6 years ago in HumansCraigslist Hookup Is Gone, Find Sites Like Craigslist Personals as Alternative
Looking for casual hookups was previously a tough undertaking since it was considered morally unethical. However, this culture has been embraced, and people are living a more carefree life that is not just full of fun, but also happier. To help connect such hookups, sites like Craigslist personals came up. But it is not going to work anymore. For years, sites like Craiglist and Backpage had become the online marketplace for sexual hookups. However, Craigslist shut down their "personal" section early this March. And this is the section used to do ads for seeking romance and sexual connections before it was down. With the shut down of this popular place for hookup, people could not stop wondering if there is any alternative site of Craigslist personals. During this phase, many sites are slowly getting wiped out by the better-doing sites like NSAmeets.org.
The Story of a Former Catfish
There are times that I look at myself in the mirror, and I absolutely hate what I see. I look at my dry skin (that STILL manages to break out somehow), my glasses, my weight, my stringy hair, dry lips, and I'll nitpick at myself. I'm constantly changing the way that I look due to all of these insecurities. I'll change my makeup style, layer it on heavily with bright colored highlights, smokey eye, etc, or I'll have a completely natural look. I'll get new glasses that hide half my face so that, at least in my mind, people can't see how hideous I actually am.

As if dating in the modern world wasn’t complicated enough, with the advent of social media, it’s become downright convoluted. While social media can be a great vehicle to obtain more information about the person you’re dating, it’s made the mating ritual awfully chaotic. From Tweets to Facebook statuses to Instagram hashtags…is anyone else feeling confused? Well, it doesn’t have to be if you follow my guidelines. Here we go…
Heart Centered UniversePublished 6 years ago in HumansIs Online Dating Good or Bad for Society?
I’ll never forget my first online date. It went very well. Nothing weird happened. It was a normal date. With a pretty normal girl. Even though I was partially expecting something bad to happen, nothing did. See there’s this dumb stereotype that online dating is dangerous and you’re gonna meet weird ass people who are gonna rape you or tell you their life story 15 minutes after meeting you. Now, for the most part, I’ve been very fortunate in the online dating department. In fact, me and my current girlfriend met on OkCupid (if she knew I was telling you this though I probably wouldn’t have a girlfriend anymore), and I understand that most people who’ve used online dating services such as, Tinder, POF, OkCupid, Match, bumble, have had some pretty fucked up experiences. Especially girls, beause some guys are literal pieces of shit and should be flushed down the toilet of prison to be-butt fucked for 20 to 30 years with the possibility of parole.

Being a 21-year-old basic white girl who is more single than a Pringle, naturally, I am on Tinder. Here is my ultimate guide to Tinder boys from a straight and female perspective, who to stay away from, and who is actually worth replying to (which is pretty much no one).

Never Meow on the First Date
A few months back, I was using online dating apps like Tinder and Bumble. Seemed simple enough. It felt like a game, to be honest. A strange game of filtering through shirtless gym selfies, “nice guys,” and the “My-friends-made-me-this-profile” guys. And after a few matches and conversations, perhaps there would be a phone number exchange, or maybe even a date. Now, in my case, I found the dates to go in one of three ways:

Like classic, text-book style foreshadowing, I read my fortune from between my fingers at our local Chinese buffet. “A new romance is in your future,” it read. It was like all of my dreams were coming true and this was my confirmation. To me in this vulnerable moment, it was a sign from divinity itself that I would suffer no more! My time had finally come and I would no longer be the eternally-single friend. I had finally found the one….. Or so I thought.
Cassidy PintozziPublished 6 years ago in HumansWhat Is a Catfish on the Internet and How to Spot One
A "catfish" is defined as a person creating a false online identity; false pictures, false profile. There is a difference between a fake profile and a catfish though. Many marketers use fake profiles to brandish "likes," "shares," "retweets," etc., and generally, a fake profile won’t reach out to anyone. But a catfish is someone who uses that fake persona to either sell a service (these conversations are usually initiated by "bots," or programs with pre-programmed messages, to a real user) or a real person, essentially present themselves falsely to garner attention, friends or romantic relationships in an internet setting.
