Snapchat Needs to Stop Being the New Phone Number
If one more boy asks for my Snapchat instead of my phone number I’m going to give up completely on meeting anyone! Being in my young 20s and a part of the Gen Z group, we are known to be all about social media. I mean I wouldn’t call myself old fashion but I started to see this trend once I transferred to a bigger College. Growing up, it was just normal to ask for someone's number, for homework, clubs, or just because you became friends. It's super simple to do, all you have to do is hand me the phone with the keypad open. Girls always just gave me their numbers, but boys always seemed to give me their Snapchats. When I went to community college I only experienced exchanging snapchats with a boy once, but soon after I had his number. At what point did we stop giving people our phone numbers and starting giving out Snapchats?
Out With the Old in With the New!
To the romantics, who over think every detail trying to make that first date perfect, to the old school kids, still waiting for that knight in shining armor, to the chivalrous people, waiting for someone to take a chance on them, times have changed in the dating world. It is so easy to be set up for failure with the new world of online dating. It's so hard to find someone genuine whilst too easy to be someone that you're not. Online dating has made cat-fishing all too common. So to those who are still holding out for the old school kind of date this is our tribute. Our "So long," if you will.
Olivia ShaePublished 6 years ago in Humans5 Types of Guys You'll Find on Tinder
Before I met my current boyfriend, I've been in the online dating conspiracy for a year and quite frankly, it was tough. But as faith would have it, that's how my man and I got together. For so long though, I didn't believe I could find someone that I would end up in a long-term relationship with. While I was out there looking for someone to share my life with, here's five guys that I've encountered on Tinder.
Bella PoirierPublished 6 years ago in HumansMy Experience Using Online Dating Apps as an Indian Man
In the current zeitgeist, the dating scene has changed over the past ten years. Nowadays, dating is like ordering food online. Some days, you have a hankering for Mexican, Japanese, Italian, or some crazy fusion. But from my experience using online dating apps, it seems like not a lot of women want Indian.
Tinder
Love is always in the air! Or at least the smoldering remains of it. What’s more inviting than the stench of one-night stands, breakups, and desperation? Forget E-Harmony or face-to-face dating—who needs to invest in relationships? What better way to find “the one” than getting the old but trendy location-based social Tinder app? No, this isn’t an advertisement, but it can’t hurt to tell (and sometimes exaggerate) the truth. Anyone who has come in contact with this masterpiece is sure to tell some crazy stories. From stalkers following others to work, men calling for blowjobs, or random girls requesting to swing in hammocks in the middle of the woods (that’s not an exaggeration), Tinder expands your horizons and your fiery horror stories. But when you’re a young, ambitious millennial, any reckless adventure will do, especially when you only have to worry about yourself because you’re as single as a dollar bill. I mean, try new things, right?
A'Dreana AndersonPublished 6 years ago in HumansFinally There Is a Tinder for Mature Dating Over 40
Tinder is a wonderful dating platform for many people, but it is also very generic. It is hard for people to find matches in specific categories. This becomes even harder when your category of people doesn’t have a heavy representation on Tinder. Mature dating over 40 is an example of the group that does not have a big representation on Tinder. But now there is a Tinder for those who are interested in mature dating.
Millennial Romance
Millennial Romance; what does that even mean? In these days, social media apps like Tinder have dominated an entire generation, making it hard to view "swiping right" as romantic or even personal.

There you are, at the bar having tequila, wondering why it went so wrong. Why he decided to talk about the size of his penis for the last half hour or why he just answered a call from his “guy friend” who sounded a lot like a female—unless he is currently undergoing a voice change and taking hormones for it. ANYWAY, you tend to freeze in the midst of all these “hopeful thoughts” about finding the love of your life and just simply ask yourself:

To say coming out of a 17 year relationship was a little scary is an understatement. Not least because I felt that nothing which was happening at the time was really within my control (the details of which I’ll leave for another blog). But to cut a long story short, I never really wanted to be single right then. However, as it was, I found myself exactly that on New Years Day, 2016, and when the last time you were dating was 1998 (a whole different millennia), the dating game had moved on somewhat from then!

Swipe Right for Love?
What am I even doing? A wave of doubts ran through my head as I nervously watched the app download on my phone. The girl in the dorm room next to mine swore this was the only way to get over my bad breakup and I was apparently willing to try anything. Including subjecting myself to a barrage of sleazy messages, followed inevitably by the wave of completely unwanted dick pics. Tinder, while nowhere near my comfort zone, turned out to be exactly what I needed. Not only would I learn to be more confident in my interactions with the opposite sex, I would also stumble across the love of my life.
Alina GallupePublished 6 years ago in Humans 5 Different Ways to Stand Out on a Dating App
So, with all things pointing toward Valentine's Day (so close, yet so far), many of us are swiping a bit more aggressively in the hopes of finding someone who would like us just enough to want a date, a hookup, or something giving us a leg to stand on in our love lives. I have been paid to do some interesting things in my time, some of which I am not very proud of. This is one of those things.
