I Found Love on Tinder

This dating app actually is for more than just hooking up!

The day I moved to school last year, I went to Tinder to meet new people. I didn't know anyone except for the handful of people who went to my high school. So I started using the app in the hopes that I would get invited to parties and what not. It worked the way I intended and I actually got more than I was hoping for, but in a good way.

The day after I moved in, we matched and he started the conversation. We talked for a few days about just about everything that came to mind. After a few days he invited me to a party that his fraternity was holding, but I was too nervous to go. At that point I did not feel exactly comfortable going to a frat alone to meet with someone I have never met before. So for about another two weeks we just texted and snapchatted one another; until I was already out and he walked to meet me to hang out at the house.

All was well. We hung out a lot. He invited me to tailgates and introduced me to all of his friends. We even went on a one-on-one date to the movies to see It. I knew from the beginning that I would grow strong feelings for this man. But it hasn't always been smooth sailing.

Since I knew that I was growing feelings, I decided to ask him what the end game was. He explained that as a senior who was supposed to leave in spring -- he now needs to take a 5th year due to changing majors freshman year -- and me being a freshman, he didn't want to get into anything serious. Shortly after he stopped communication. I was seriously bummed out because I thought his excuse was typical for a college guy.

About a month later, I had gone back to his frat with one of my friends for a Halloween party. I ran into him and we started talking again. He put his arm around me and it was how it was prior to the communication loss. Then everything was good. We had gotten closer again and spent more time together. This was up until after Spring break.

I started to hear about him talking about me behind my back and what not. This did not fly with me, so I was the one who cut off communications this time. He eventually contacted me a few weeks later saying that he missed me and how he wants to hang out again. So I allowed it. But I kept hearing stuff about him that I didn't like. Eventually, I just laid it all out to him. If he didn't change his act, he would lose me.

This really sprung him into shape. He apologized for all of his wrongdoing and has been proving to me that he is truly sorry. He has even admitted to me that me confronting him hit him so hard that he talked to his parents, friends, and sister about me. He likes to put it as he had his "head up his ass" and regrets waiting so long to show me appreciation and realize that he had something so great in front of him.

While reading this you may think I'm an idiot for letting him have so many chances, but when you love someone you give them time to figure stuff out on their own. I don't only love him, but I am in love with him. He makes me so happy. I can actually see myself marrying him one day if that is what fate has planned for me. I don't regret putting up with his b.s. for about 8 months because really that's only a small portion of my lifetime.

So this is how I found love on Tinder. It may not have been perfect from the beginning and it won't always be easy. But I would not change my experience for the world. I love my boyfriend with my whole heart and cannot wait for what the future has in store for us!
