Is He Scared of How Much He Likes You?

Now there are many reasons why a man might be scared of falling in love with you and showing it. He could be an introvert, shy, or just plain hurt from his previous relationships. Just because these guys don't tell you if they like you or not does not make them uninterested. In fact, it has been shown women underestimate a man's interest in us and guys overestimate our interest in them.

Have you ever wondered why he’s acting all distant, blowing hot and cold? You immediately think that he’s not that into you or an asshole, but believe me, that is not always the case, especially for shy guys or previously hurt guys.

Men are not like most women. They allow all of their emotions to pile up and before it's too late, they have fallen hard. They feel overwhelmed with their feelings. Once a guy says "Oh, I don't do love," those are the ones who will fall in love without even knowing it themselves and they love the hardest.

When he is being distant, he is probably just facing all of these new emotions and maybe he doesn’t know how to deal with them. These are the clear signs he likes you, but is scared as hell to just listen to his heart and give in.

1. You feel him staring at you when you aren't looking, so you turn to catch him in the act, but he quickly looks away.
2. After you have a meaningful discussion about your lives, he suddenly distances himself from you and even pushes you out.
3. He finds reasons to hang around after sex. Or if you are at his place, he might suggest you stay the night, watch movies, or play video games.
4. He’s been hurt in the past and keeps saying or hinting how he’s afraid of going through another heartbreak again. (Obvious!)
5. He blows hot and cold. Most of the time, you’d boil it down to him being uninterested, but your gut feeling says he really likes you. Remember your gut feeling is usually accurate.
6. He changes the topic whenever you try to talk about the future, but if he is following these other signs, it is more than likely he is just trying to push aside his feelings.
7. He will do cute things like tickling you until he realizes how cute and vulnerable he’s being and pulls away and even overcompensates and blocks you out.
8. He lets his actions speak for him, at least until he realizes what his actions are telling you.
9. When you are staring into each other's eyes, he will get nervous and break eye contact.
10. He claims that he doesn’t want a relationship, even though he acts exactly like a boyfriend when you two are together.
11. Sometimes it feels like he has something to say but he doesn't say anything. Don't pry. He will only close up even more.
12. He gets jealous when you talk about other men or a guy trying to pick you up, although he will claim he doesn't care if you call him out on that bullshit lie.
13. He tries to push you away, but then he realizes how much he wants you in his life, and he pulls you back in again. (Don't confuse this with a manipulator)
14. He texts you all the time, introduces you to his parents and friends, but whenever you mention how sweet he is, he plays it cool and acts like everything he’s done isn’t really a big deal. OR he does the exact opposite and doesn't text at all, especially the first text because he thinks if he doesn't text, he won't get feelings, or the ones he has will go away.
15. He will tell you that he’s not used to being in relationships and is scared of how much he likes you.
