Long Distance Relationships

We can all become victims of a long distance relationship I guess, but to know how it feels and what you go through during this phase only those who have experienced it can understand. We all need somebody to comfort us through our lonely and depressing times because we say we can face the problems alone but we really cannot. Reality hits us throughout our life, in fact at every stage of our life and that is when you realise you are growing up. We all need somebody to love us at some point in our life or even just a really close friend to whom you can share your feelings. Just somebody who is listening to you and makes you feel protected and that they are always there when you are going to drown. You see life doesn’t always bless everyone with somebody at an early age but eventually as you grow up you realise there is someone there for you and it might just be on the other side of the world. Who knows? Or do we?

This is where long distance relationships step in and whoever has experienced this knows that when you meet with one another after such a long time, it feels great. You experience new feelings and new experiences which you are not aware of but when you are alone and on the other side without the other half you realise that there is a whole new world to this life. This happens with them as well and you both experience similar feelings, which make you fall deep in love. The love is great, the experience and feelings are incredible, making you feel on top of the world, but then one of you just has to leave and go back to the other side. The time you wish you never departed, the journeys arriving to meet the other half and the journeys departing from your other half are completely the opposite of what they should be. The love, the separation is incredibly sad and depressing for a while and then you get back to reality and start to work for a living and so does the other half on the other side. This is where the fantasy ends and it's like the fairytale just ended without you wanting it to end.

Unfortunately, those who haven't experienced this will not understand because during this phase you realise the importance of your other half. This allows yourself to be more committed and more in love with them. Do not get me wrong, it should work both ways and that is what makes the long distance relationship work. If you did not live apart how will you know how it feels without the other person, and if you feel something like you missing them then you know that he/she is the one you want to spend your whole life with.

Knowing that you're missing out on a lot of things whilst you are not with them is something only a person with a strong heart could tolerate. You may no longer take the long distance relationship and both may decide to end the relationship. However, that is a sign of impatience and a terrible weakness that a lot of people experience. For those experiencing this, stay strong and hope for the best. If you are meant to be then you are meant to be forever. This may seem so unreal but true love always makes a way and that is why when you meet after so long it feels right and feels new. It's like falling in love all over again.
