Love and Faith

The strings of creation

Love is love

Love takes on many forms, these bonds we form from birth to death enrich our experience of this life. From family, friendship, romance, charity, and self discovery love connects us in unexpected ways. These beautiful expressions of love are like the paint strokes of Heaven.

Each of the forms that love takes on are different in subtle beautiful ways, and yet connected on a far deeper level that what can be perceived with the mind, the eye, or even the heart.

Like strings, encircling the world, love connects all of the human race in one way or another. These invisible strings crossing over family names, religions, and genders creating an intricate web that binds us to each other. These connections reaching upwards towards faith.

Human hearts hold the potential for great things, both in beauty and scale. That same love throughout our history has evolved and helped to shape who we are and what our species holds dear. Love can be misunderstood at times, and loves shadow echoes pain from the past. The diminishment of Love or its absence has led to some of the darkest periods of our history. Love for all things must be at the forefront of everything we do to not only secure our place in tomorrow but ensure we have earned it.

When people talk of love for all things it’s immediately categorized as “hippie love” as a way to diminish its impact by the understanding of a few and the perception of others. Love is far deeper than just a feeling, a color or a song, but a multi layered musical of beauty and wonder.

Love, the foundation of any family and the cornerstone of faith. Faith, like love is a belief; faith is a belief of the soul, while love is a belief of the heart. Both enrich our experience on this planet and bring us closer to eachother and our faith.

Love is really just a different kind of faith, it’s faith in yourselves and one another. It’s the promise that the sun will rise on tomorrow and that promise, that belief is also faith.

Faith is important, it has helped us rise higher from where life began to where we are now. Humanity yearns to believe in a higher power and that belief gives all who believe strength to reach higher not only in potential but in Faith as well.

It has allowed us to create beautiful monuments to our faiths so powerful they endure fire and flame. These monuments will endure long after the bricks have crumbled for they live in our hearts. These great monuments are testaments to our beliefs. Our compassion has saved countless lives, our generosity has built nations; our kindness helps to ease the burdens of this life; and finally hope and love sustain us during the darkest nights.

Like candles in the dark that illuminate our paths towards tomorrow. We are drawn to this light to spend our nights together with whom we love. These bonds, these connections sustain us, enrich us and evolve us.

Love is the greatest of these tenements and it is a beautiful complex wonder that has more depth that anyone can know. When we practice love in everyday life we shape a better future by faith. Love carries us towards faith, as faith propels us forward towards love.

Love is messy, it’s feelings within feelings and questions upon questions at times. It forces us to look within to find who we are and urges us to look above for where we are going. Our understanding of that Love is ever evolving as we reach closer to the divine with faiths outstretched hands.

As we come to understand eachother and ourselves we learn more about the love that surrounds us. It’s the one thing that we all share, the common ground on which we all stand. This foundation is only made stronger by each expression of that love. As long as that love is shared, respected and understood it becomes the strongest thing in creation.

Too often however when ones understanding of love is challenged by something we do not understand it can cause good people to do loveless things and lose faith in eachother.

Faith, like a lighthouse is a beacon in the dark guiding people to love, to the divine. In its light a safe harbour is created from the storm for all people who love.

Its light should never be eclipsed by the hatred of one who cannot understand. Faith is stronger than that and so is humanity. Faith needs to be stronger than hatred and misunderstandings; a force free from expectations.

When we love openly and have faith in eachother we create a world where love and faith will flourish. Faith must be bound by love for it sustains our belief. Our beliefs are what makes us who we are and shows us where we can go together.

Society is based on beliefs, it’s built upon each generation from all the hopes and dreams of humankind. Faith in eachother and the Divine must be based in love to help us reach farther. Without it, our very foundations will crumble like ash.

Love and faith are two pillars of society and connected closely to who we are as a people. Faith without love is fanatical, and love without faith is doubt. The divine is love and just like the creation that surrounds us, all things beautiful are a part of the divine mystery of creation, just like rainbows in the sky.
