Love at a Bus Stop

As I was looking around to make sure I was safe, I locked eyes with Joseph.

I love my boyfriend. I’ve been with him for 5 1/2 months and it’s been great. We have some challenges like every normal relationship does. Here’s how our story starts: we met each other April 26 2018. (Disclosure, it was 5 days after his 23rd bday) We met at a bus stop in Baltimore, when we were both off of work, and the moment we laid eyes on each other was just magic. Let me get into detail about what I mean. A couple of minutes before meeting him, I originally was at another bus stop. I was there smoking a blunt and talking to cops and didn’t want to get in any trouble, the cops just seemed too nice), so I left and went to the next bus stop to roll another blunt. As I was looking around to make sure I was safe, I locked eyes with Joseph. Now while we were locking eyes, he was trying to tell me that security guards were coming without words. I smiled at him because it was so cute how he was trying to protect me without knowing me. After the security guards left we started talking and rolling up blunts and just getting to know each other while buses just past by us. So we continued talking and smoking and finally got on the bus. (Another disclosure, I found out he lived up the street from me).

While on the bus, we exchanged numbers and planned out a day to hang out. Fast forward, May 3rd (my birthday month) we decided to hangout and get to know each other more, so we smoked some blunts and talked in his backyard for a bit. An hour into hanging out, I asked him if he wanted to go to the hospital with me cause at the time I had kidney stones that were passing. He said yes and we started making our way there. (It was only a 5-8 min walk.) We got to the hospital and he stayed there the whole night until I was discharged. Our first kiss was 6 days later and it was just so magical. We were at a nice weird secluded area. He told me to close my eyes cause he had a gift but instead kissed me and was the best gift ever. The next day we made it official as boyfriend and girlfriend, and I couldn’t be happier. Before meeting Joseph, I wanted to give up on men and relationships and just focus on animals and building my business. Meeting Joe was the best thing that could happen in our lives. We celebrated my birthday together (May 26th) and then a couple days later we moved in with each other. Now let’s start with the fact that this was the first real, consistent relationship that I have been in and moving in together was a little scary in thought. But I’m reality it was like we had been living together for years. Living together with the person you love is the most wonderful feeling in the world. You have better privacy and better communication to fix things together, and of course the intimacy. Not just talking about sex but just being able to talk and cook together and have fun other ways without leaving the house or spending money. We do argue and have disagreements but that’s perfectly normal, no one's perfect and everyone has flaws. By acknowledging that and living with each other it makes our bond stronger, and I can’t wait until years more, when I can share this with our kids. This is my love story. What’s yours?
