Love's Grip

You can run from love, but it always grasps you in the end.

Before I get into this "Love story" of sorts, let me explain something. My style of writing is a bit different from your average Joe. I like to leave things open for interpretation and allow the readers to take the message they need from my works. Sometimes I will draw a few things or paint something that helps better portray the emotion of the story, so all the artwork you see, is all original, and created for the soul superpose of portraying emotion in a way that words can't. Hope you all enjoy my first post!

"When Your World Is Lost"

Whilst walking, with a lost look on his face, Rob notices Alex leaning against a tree. She looks lost and confused.

Rob asks Alex in a concerned tone, "Are you okay?"

Alex, with a look of confusion, sorrow, and anger all in one, looks at Rob in a way that asks for help. Tears start to form in her eyes, as she doesn't need help, but a shoulder to cry on, someone to lean on in this time of trouble. She is having trouble leaving the tree though, but with a lot of effort she pushes off of it.

Alex steps away from the tree she's been leaning on and starts to walk towards Rob. Every step towards him, she starts to be less and less okay, as she steps away from the comfort of her tree, teary eyes, letting more and more water fall from them, in every step.

Rob stands there, wishing there was something he could do, but trying his hardest to do what he can. He knows Alex must fall before she rises. The look on his face is one of helpfulness. In his face, all you can see is how helpful he wishes to be, as he stands there arms wide open, waiting, waiting for Alex to finally embrace him.

Alex picking up her pace, ever so slightly with every step she takes T'wards Rob, she finally gets close enough for Rob to know she's far from okay and there's virtually nothing he can do to help. Well, that's what he thinks, because in the past all he's done is tried and failed.

Alex wraps her arms around Rob and rests her head on the inward of his shoulder. She begins to sob, feeling a mixer of every feeling ever known to her. She cries and cries, with every breath she hugs him just a little harder.

Rob holds her in a way that tells her she's going to be okay. He knows all he can do is let her expel her emotions and just hold her till she's fixed, be there for her, and do whatever she needs done. He can't help but feeling like he was the cause for her problems.

Alex looks up at Rob. She is fine now, at peace with herself. She is truly beautiful in this moment, almost like she's finally truly opened up. Like all of her problems have finally been resolved. In this moment, she is showing him how thankful she is just by the look in her eyes.

Rob, looking at her, feels like he's meeting her for the first time. This makes him feel nice, like he's face-to-face with his own world. In this moment, he sees her as a diamond in the rough, a bright light in a world of glow sticks, the love of his life, and the most beautiful thing ever created. He gets a sudden off feeling, like something wasn't right though.

The sky turns from a beautiful blue to a dark milky black, instantly Rob knows something is horribly wrong.

Alex's smile disappears. She ends up back in her confused, depressed mind. Her eyes start to tear up again. The words that come next echo through Rob's head on repeat

"Are You Sure?" Alex says to Rob, as the light in her eyes goes out.

Rob can't help but feel like he's failed, stuck on Alex, like a mouse, caught in a trap, just an endless cycle of helping and not trying hard enough. He sees the last bit of hope and light fade from her and the words just spoken echo in his head over and over again

Alex, vanishes, nothing but empty space where she once was. It isn't a sudden vanish though. She sort of just fades away, like ice melting on a hot sunny day, only much quicker.

Rob, feels like he has lost the entire world. As his hands fall through the empty space in slow motion, he can't help but think back to the good times him and Alex had together. Even with her gone, he's still left with her in his head and even though he knows it isn't her, he tries to hold on to what he has left of her.

His hands hit his sides and he falls to his knees, finally letting out everything, and cries. Hands go to his head in frustration and confusion, eyes showing exhaustion, as he's left to wonder, where he went wrong, what he could have done better, how he could of helped, and everything else he could possibly think about.

He's left feeling like his world is lost, like everything is gone, will to live, vanished in the blink of an eye, but he still holds on, so she can live on in his head.
