It begins getting interesting.

Once Derek got to Manny’s house, he knocked on the door.

“Hey!” Manny said once he opened the door,

“Hey!” Derek said, coming inside. “I need you to help me get Sky.”

“Yea man.” Manny sat down on the couch. “I’ll help you get her.”

Derek did the same, opening up his phone and going to his pictures, clicking on one of them that he had taken with Skylar—it was his favorite picture. Then he went to another picture that he had taken of her. It was at Central Park. She was standing on one of the big rocks and posed with one arm shooting up at the sky, the other on her hip and one leg popped up a little. He was observing her beauty, her smile blew him away, and it was making him fall in love with her all over again.

After looking at the picture for a while, Derek looked up at Manny. “I want her Manny.” He looked back at the picture. “I want her more than anything and I don’t care what I have to do. I am willing to do anything to have her as mine.”

“Of course,” Manny said, “I’ll help you get her.” He leaned back on the couch. “Just how are we gonna get rid of Shane so that way you can have Sky?”

“I don’t know,” Derek sighed. “No matter what I do, he is still there even if he isn’t there physically. She loves him and doesn’t want to be without him.” He closed his eyes and imagined her right how it was earlier when they were watching TV together. “I just wish that she could see that I feel that same way about her.”

“Don’t worry, she will see it.” Manny got up and went to the kitchen to get something to eat, “Yo Dere, you hungry?” he asked.

“No,” Derek sighed. “I’m alright!” He was still looking down at the picture of Skylar.

Manny came back from the kitchen with a sandwich that he had made and bit down on it. “You know...” he started chewing, “If you couldn’t get her from Shane at all. He would like have to die in order to actually leave Sky.”

Derek froze, thinking, "Shane dead? Why couldn’t I have thought of something like that? The only way that I could get Sky was if Shane was dead because he wasn’t going to leave her and she wouldn’t leave him. That is perfect." After thinking, he got up and went for the door.

Manny saw and followed him, “Hey, Dere! Where are you going?” he asked.

“You just said that the best way for me to have Sky is if Shane was dead.” Derek eyes looked dark.

“Yea,” Manny said, “But I didn’t mean to kill him.”

“If that is the only way to get rid of Shane then so be it.” Derek was already out the door and was walking to the elevator.

“Hey, wait.” Manny chased after him. “Are you really going to kill him?”

“Well not now,” Derek said, “I have to wait a while cause doing it now will cause suspicion for everyone, especially Sky. After I had asked her that question of whether she would leave Shane if she had fallen in love with someone else and she said that it wouldn’t be possible for her to love anyone like she loves him.”

“Well, you know how you are going to kill him?”

“Not yet, but I will soon. You will see.” Derek walked off to the elevator and was already planning the best way that he was going to kill him—he was going to get a gun and shoot him.

Meanwhile, after about 30 minutes of Skylar sitting with Lola watching Law and Order, Shane came and was sitting down with them, watching TV.

“So how was work?” Skylar asked, cuddling into him.

“Work was fine.” He wrapped his arm around her, “How was your day?”

“It was ok,” she sighed. “Derek was here and we watched movies.”

“Really?” Shane got annoyed. Hearing Derek was around her would always annoy him. “Why was he here? Doesn’t he like see you all the time?”

“Yeah but he said that he wanted to keep me company and since Jolie was busy, he didn’t mind hanging out with me.” Skylar looked up at him.

“Yeah.” Shane huffed. “I am starting to wonder if he is still with his girlfriend.”

“Oh my goodness,” Skylar got up from him and sat straight. “Shane, Derek is still with Jolie and there is nothing going on between us.” She took Shane’s face in her hands. “I love you, not him. I love you more anything else in this entire world and nothing is going to change that, ok?”

Shane looked right into her eyes, “Ok!’

Skylar smiled, then kissed him passionately, sitting herself right on his lap. Then not long after that, she got up, took his hand, and guided him right into the shower.

After almost a month, Derek was about to set his plan into motion. He knew that Skylar and Shane were going to be together today during the day so he was going to wait until it was late to kill him. He felt a little nervous to do it but determination was so much stronger. All Derek could think about was being able to be with Skylar once Shane was out of the picture forever. He knew that once Shane was dead, it would take a while before she would even consider starting a relationship as she coped with Shane’s death but all he cared about was that he would be able to be with her and the faster, the better.

It was Friday night and Skylar and Shane were on another date together. They had seen Wolverine and after that they went out to eat at Johnny Rockets, which is right next to the movie theater at the Atlas Mall. Then it was time for them to go home, so they both waited for the bus to come and when it did, Skylar went on it and as it left, waved at Shane as he was walking home.

While on the bus, Skylar was smiling to herself about how nice of a day she had today with Shane. The movie was really good and the dinner was so nice, she loved watching when the waiters would dance to one of the songs that they would play. She always had fun when she was with Shane and it was still only a few months before she actually became Mrs. Shane Sanchez. She was so excited.

Once she got home, she opened the door and saw that no one was still home. She didn’t know why. It was 8 at night—what could everyone be doing? But it didn’t matter to her. Skylar took her phone out of her bag and saw that there were ten missed calls from everyone. Her parents called, Shane’s mom called, and even his brother William called. That made Skylar panic so she decided to call William, who was the most recent one who called.

The phone only rang once before he picked up, “Hello! Sky.”

“Hey Will!” Skylar smiled even though he couldn’t see it. “What’s up?” she asked. “Why is everyone calling me? Even your mom called me.”

“Sky, where are you?” William was practically shouting through the phone, like he was barely able to hear anything.

“I am home,” she answered. “What’s wrong?” She started to worry.

“Sky, it’s Shane,” he said. “He got shot when he was almost home.”

Skylar froze, what? Shane was shot? This can’t be happening. “Wait, what do you mean that he was shot? How is that even possible?” She started to panic. The love of her life was shot and she wasn’t there with him.

“I don’t know,” William was shouting. “I was at the library and met him while he was walking home and we were going home together and then while we were about a block away, Shane got shot right in his chest.

Skylar had lost it, what? Oh my goodness, please, he can’t die on me, not now. He is all that I have, he can’t leave me now when I need him. She was already crying, “No, Will, please tell me that he will be alright.” She started pacing back and forth. “I need to be there. I need to see Shane.”

“Alright, I’ll go get you.”

“Ok,” Skylar was still crying. “Come quick!” She hung up and threw herself on the floor. She couldn’t believe what was happening at the moment. The one that she was going to marry and spend the rest of her life with was just shot as he was going home. She was about to lose the one person who ever loved her (as far as she knew) and she didn’t want him to leave her and let her be all alone (or so she thought).

After sitting down, waiting, Shane’s brother William, finally came and Skylar wasted no time, running and going right into the car. “Let’s go!” she said and William didn’t even hesitate and started driving.

They went to the Wyckoff Hospital where Shane was being looked at to see how bad the wound was from what the bullet had caused.

Once they got inside, Skylar ran to Shane’s mom. “How is he, Gloria?”

Shane’s mom Gloria looked at her, tears rolling down her face. “I don’t know.” She was trying to catch her breath. “The doctor has to let us know whether or not he is going to be ok.”

Skylar started pacing back and forth. She wanted to know if he would be ok. She needed him to be ok. While pacing, she didn’t even notice that more tears were pouring out of her eyes. She just started seeing blurriness from the tears covering her eyes, making it hard for her to see, so she just stopped and fell to the floor, crying her eyes out.

Her parents soon came to hospital, looking around to see where everyone was. Once they saw Skylar on the floor, her mom ran over to her.

“Sky,” she said, trying to pick Skylar up from the floor. “Get up from the floor. It’s dirty.”

“No!” Skylar protested. “I don’t want to get up.” She was wiping tears away from her eyes. “I want to know if Shane is going to be ok and they still haven’t f**king told us anything.”

“Sky, language,” her mom said, holding her arm up.

“Who cares, Mom?” Skylar said, “Who cares about what words that I say? They are just words.” She started crying again. “Right now, I don’t care about anything else than seeing whether or not Shane is ok. He has to be ok, he has to-” Skylar stopped as she just broke down again. She couldn’t believe that it was happening to her. She couldn’t believe that she could lose the most important person in her life forever.
