My Love

It all started with a smile and a hug. I remember looking into your beautiful hazel eyes, they shimmered like diamonds in bright light. You were oh so beautiful, like no one I had ever seen before. You pulled me close and with my head against your chest, all I could hear was your heartbeat. I fell in love with you the moment that I met you. You made me that happiest I had ever been, but we were only strangers. We were cruising around, it was a warm sunny day in California, I had the beautiful view of clear skies and tall palm trees, the wind flowing through my hair, but all I could focus is on was your breathtaking smile. That day I knew you were all I was missing.

As we continued to see each other, we grew so close together. You became my best friend, the only person I trusted with all my deepest secrets, the only one I could always rely on. You’re my best friend and my lover, you’re everything I’m not. The night of our first kiss was like a fairytale. I was walking along a brick wall, you held my hand to make sure I didn’t fall, you picked me up and spun me, and brought me closer to your face. When I felt your smooth, warm lips against mine my heart started rushing and I felt a tingly feeling in my chest, I could feel my face turning red, you made my heart melt. You make all the gloomy days feel bright again, and you make all the great days even better.

Your presence is heavenly, I’ve never been so in love. You’re so charming inside and out. Yeah, your appearance is what caught my eye, but your personality is what captured my heart. Nothing in the world can make me feel the way you do. In your arms, I feel safe and at home. You’re everything I’ve ever known.

Can you take me back to those days when our love was so pure? They say that you can’t have love without hate, but I loved you so intensely I never thought it'd be possible to hate you. Every relationship has its hard times but our love is stronger than it all. These days are harder for us but I have faith that we’ll grow past them. Our love will never be the same as it once was, I know it’ll only get better. I never meant to fall in love with you but it was, what they call, love at first sight. You’re the best thing that’s happened to me, I don’t regret a thing. With you by my side it feels as if we could defy gravity together.

Love can be both a beautiful and a frightening thing. We’re always left with those what-ifs and they can be scary enough to make you want to push your love away. We shouldn’t be afraid of love, but we should be cautious–After all, it’s a beautiful thing. If we expect love to be all butterflies and rainbows we’re going to be in for a horrible surprise, because nothing’s perfect.

My love was never perfect, but I can definitely say it’s been worth it. It’s been a mental, emotional, and physical ride but in the end, nothing but good things have come from it. I’m complete with you by my side. Love is passion and intensity and, when you find it, don’t ever let it go–you might regret it. Love can be a blessing or a curse, be careful who you give it to.
