My Most Embarrassing Date

Instead of getting turned on, all I wanted that night was to get turned off.

We've all done it. Went on a date with someone who we met online or even a blind date, and then once it finally happens, you're regretting every second of it. This happened to me not too long ago. I met a decent looking guy online, who was capable of having a respectful conversation with me (which is hard to come by these days with no forward questions or pervy comments). So we decided to meet up at a pizza shop.

Ever meet someone and immediately know your not interested? Not even just by looks but either their awkward personality, narcissism or lack of hygiene? The list could be limitless, but point being, I knew I didn't want to see this guy again as soon as I met him.

What was wrong with this guy you ask? Nothing major, I've met honestly worse. It was one of those cases where the person turned out to not look as attractive as their picture. As well as a VERY awkward personality. I could even feel the tension that he wasn't eating me up either. There were moments filled with cringe-worthy silence and wonder of why we were even pretending to be interested anymore. BUT THIS WASN'T EVEN THE WORST PART OF THE DATE!

The reason this was the absolute most embarrassing date that I've ever experienced wasn't even this guys fault. It was mine. Embarrassingly my doing. As we finally decided to end what seemed like a forever longing date, he walked me out to my car. As we awkwardly said our goodbyes and I tried to unlock my car, my car alarm starts BLARING off.

Now, this may not seem like that big of a deal right? Like just push your little remote and it'll all be alright. BUT IT WASN'T. The little remote for my car wasn't working! I stumbled and pressed every button possible to get it to shut up. My date was there still just confused on whether or not to try and do something to help or run. He decided to run after he realized my car alarm wasn't going to shut off. We already had said our goodbyes and his chain was let loose. SEE YA!

So there I was at about 11 at night with my car alarm blaring as people walk by and stare. I tried EVERYTHING. Worst came to worst, I had to phone my elderly 75 year old grandmother in the middle of the night to come pick me up because my car wouldn't even turn on. The poor woman had already taken her meds for the night and was a little loopy coming to get me. It was a little hilarious but I felt bad having to call her so late.

What happened with my date that night? Well it was clearly just as awkward as I felt it was because he didn't say a single word to me after that night. Which was fine by me. But I am still curious what it was that he was turned off by; was it me or my car. Get it, turned off. IT WOULDN'T. God it was an embarrassing experience. Thankfully that poor kid will never have to go through that painful experience again nor I...
