My First, Only, and Last

Frozen Heart

This is a story about my first date ever, the only date I've had, and the last I will with him.

He was my first boyfriend. Not my first love, or my first crush, but my first guy friend.

I had just graduated; I was entered by raffle into a brand new charter school.

I wasn't as excited as everyone else. The uniforms were expensive, and they had strict dress rules.

I made a few friends, but they quickly made their own friends. So I was left isolated like every other year.

But some few friendly girls offered to sit next to me at lunchtime even though we didn't have classes together.

I don't remember exactly how we met. But I know was there was a guy who liked writing poetry.

Even though he wasn't very good at it. But we shared a couple things in common and he asked me out one day.

We spoke on the phone for hours. Spent all lunch breaks together. Nobody in my classes talked to me.

So those moments were fun. Then one day, I wanted to go to his house and meet his parents.

I didn't ask my mom for permission, knowing she'd say no. And I wasn't much of a rebellious kid.

I just didn't like people taking away my freedom, because I'm stubborn and never listen to anyone.

So I went to his house via bus. We went inside, up the stairs, to the second floor of the condo only to see nothing but an ordinary, large family. Everyone was doing their own thing; he had many siblings.

And they didn't like me AT ALL! They took one good look at me and wondered why he's even dating me. Pretty rude.

I tried not to let that discourage me. But his mom was accusing me of not being in the same school.

His sisters were treating me like they didn't want me there, and his father didn't even bother to ask any questions.

We went to his room, I watched him play video games, and I checked my phone and realized I had 20-something missed calls and texts.

My phone battery was dying. I was panicking. I answered when they tried again and it was my aunt asking me where I was.

Apparently I didn't show up home right away like I usually did; they were worried and called the police for a missing person.

They told the officers they found me, my relative picked me up from his house, and I got a long lecture about how ungrateful I am.

My boyfriend and I both got grounded and we couldn't talk to each other. But, being the pain in the butt I am, we did anyways.

That is, until I found out his ex-girlfriend who cheated on him, and who was dating someone else, by the way, was texting him I love you's and kissy faces.

Now, I'm not the jealous type, but it sure made me angry when I saw he was replying the same thing back.

Because high school isn't high school without drama! He told me he still has feelings for her and was basically using me to get her attention.

A few weeks later, I couldn't put up with it anymore; I broke up with him. And that wasn't enough for him.

He decided, right in front of my face, to tell my friends that I stink and he doesn't even know why he went out with me, while laughing.

I'm not a violent person. I can't even kill a bug — I complain to my mom to do it. But that was the most disrespectful thing he could've done on top of using me, cheating on me, and breaking my heart. So I beat him up once during lunch time.

We both got suspended, because he started hitting me, too. Rumor has it because I "abused" him that I hate Black people...

One of my best friends was colored. Plus, if I did, why would I date him in the first place?

But of course, everyone believed it, and I lost all my friends. Started getting bullied, just like middle school. And I had to transfer next year because I was a problem child. And that is the story of my first date ever. The only date I've had. The last I had with him. And the worst by far.

The End. Thank you for reading. Hope you have better luck with love than I do.
