In my life, I've had a lot of friends with benefits over the years. Many of them are my legit friends, too. We have coffee, drink, and occasionally talk about sex and porn. Then, if we're both single (or in open relationships), we'd bone.

Truth be told, finding really decent friends with benefits is difficult—exceedingly so, at times. That's why you gotta treat the friends with benefits you do have well.

In the past, I actually have given gifts to my FWBs. Sometimes it goes over well, other times, I chose the wrong present and made an ass of myself. It takes some tact and actually being friends with the person you're FWB with to determine whether or not you should get them a present—and if the present you chose is appropriate.

If you want to give gifts for your friend with benefits, my suggestion is to try some of the following options below...

(Note: I don't suggest buying sex toys for FWBs, 'cause you don't know who else is using them and that can be dangerous if sanitation isn't monitored. If you're looking for sex toy suggestions for your sexy friend, check out this article filled with great sex toys for couples.)

A giant beach towel may not seem very seasonable, but trust me when I say that there's always a reason why you should have one on hand. This cute beach towel is one of the better gifts for your friend with benefits—if she's female, anyway.

It's a little bit 80s in style, is perfect for lounging on a beach, and is snuggly enough to wrap yourself up after a dip in the bath during colder winter months. Your friend will love it and if you've been thinking of dating her, it's a perfect quasi-romantic gift choice to try.

If you're okay with being a bit crass and are very open about your "FWB situation," then one of the more crazy gifts for your friend with benefits is this twisted spin on the classic BFF necklace concept. Yes, it's pretty explicit. Yes, it's hilarious.

But, it's honest and is cheeky enough that legit friends who just so happen to enjoy benefits will be able to chuckle at it. That being said, if he doesn't want to admit to sleeping around, this probably isn't the wisest gift idea out there.

Let's face it, most FWBs do the whole "Netflix and chill" thing—and that's totally okay! Netflix is awesome. One of the best gifts for your friend with benefits who enjoys watching Stranger Things alongside you, then, is a book that helps you make the most of your binging fun.

Paul Stevens offers over 100 different tips and tricks to get the most out of your Netflix sessions, including some that you never would have imagined. This book might put lists about must-watch Netflix Originals to rest, so by all means, grab a copy for yourself and your friend.

A good FWB will appreciate someone who appreciates their body—and that's why barely-there underwear is always a good idea for the FWB you like to bone. Guys tend to appreciate boxer-brief sets, while girls will typically enjoy underwear sets or a nice bra.

This is one of the few gifts for your friend with benefits that is romantic, but still makes sense despite you not being in a couple. Besides, who doesn't love a good pair of undies?

Following along with that whole "Netflix and chill" theme is this cute pillow—because the chill is totally subtext. Realistically, if you do the whole "Netflix thing" as an excuse to meet up with your sexytime buddy, this is really the best gift for your friends with benefits on the market.

Of course, sometimes being friends with benefits is more about what you need to remember. You need to remember that true love isn't going to be found in your bedsheets with this person. Rather, you need to remind yourself that true love is more about pizza and just loving your hedonistic self than it is trying to chase love.

This humorous but still street-cool hat is one of the best gifts for your friend with benefits who loves pizza. To really get the most of this gift's "oomph," serve it with a side of pizza to surprise them!

Of course, many of the best all-purpose gifts for your friend with benefits can be found in bottle form. Everyone who's had an FWB relationship can tell you that booze is often involved, so why not give them the gift that'll keep on giving?

A large bottle of vodka will let them mix their favorite vodka cocktails, do shots with you, or teach you how to make a killer Penne Vodka. Alcohol is an always-welcome gift, and gives your friend with benefits no indication that you want more, making it a perfectly safe choice for folks of all walks of life.

Safe sex is something that you need to discuss if you want to have casual sex without hospital bills or pregnancy test positives. So, why not make some safe sex gifts for your friend with benefits?

It's one of the best ways to make sure you use a condom, and also shows that you're serious about sexual health. Besides, having custom-printed condoms is pretty baller, don't you think?

Last but not least, one of the best gifts for your friend with benefits would have to be something simple, easy, and casually stylish for their home—like shot glasses.

The good/bad idea dynamic is one that's often discussed when it comes to the world of friends with benefits. Is it a good idea to be FWBs when you want a relationship? Probably not. Is it a bad idea to be FWBs if you legit want something casual? Nope.

Following the rules of being friends with benefits isn't easy. As I said, it's a fine line between FWB status being a good idea and a bad idea. These say it all, don't they?
