Pink Clouds

How This Summer Differed from Any Other So Far

School is back in session, the days are getting cooler, and Target already has Halloween knick-knacks by the entrance. We’re officially finishing off the chapter in our lives which we considered "Summer 2018." For some of us, it may have been our best summer, or our worst. For some of us, this may be our last “summer vacation” because we might be graduating before next June. And for some of us, like myself, this may have been your first “pink cloud summer.” Basically, what that means to me is just a ginormous cloud of precious memories shared with someone that I love. Being my first ever real relationship, I was excited to do fun seasonal activities during my favorite time of year with the company of my favorite girl in the world. Beach Sundays, camping trips, late night swims, etc. Everything I loved about summer before just got a whole lot better because I had the blessing of doing it all with my sweet pea.

Summers before this never had any type of pink cloud in the forecast. Before this one, they were usually filled with grass stains from playing football with the guys and pool hopping. Summer ‘18 was different than any other. It was amazing spending my first summer alongside my first love. It felt like we were living in a love song. We’d always be doing something newm like an amusement park one day, then a picnic in the park the next. Granted, we both had to work over 40 hours most weeks, but we still made it our obligation to make this summer as pink cloudish as possible.

Being together for nine months means that we’ve gone through about 3/4 of the year with each other. We can cross winter, spring, and summer off our lists and that leaves us with her favorite time of year; spooky season! I’ve been hearing about how happy this time of year makes her and now that we’ve gotten here I can see her face brighten up even brighter whenever we come across anything resembling Halloween. Scary movies, corn mazes, haunted houses, and crafting Halloween have all been on the to-do list since before August even came to an end. And there’s nothing I’d like to do more than give her the best pink cloud autumn in exchange for giving me my best ever summer.

Cheers to the honeymoon stage still not being over!
