Prays

If she cries when she prays, when she prays for you, don't take that for granted. She doesn't pray like that all the time. No, when she prays she doesn't do it like that. She's quiet and quick, but, that's her and God. But, when she prays for you, she goes to her quiet spot, and she talks to God. She lays her heart out in his hands and her soul dances at his feet. Because when she prays for you, she is giving everything she has to God. When she prays for you her voice cracks, and her tears fall like wildfire. Because she feels every word in her soul, as if what she's asking is her own, and not yours. Don't take that for granted, she's never prayed like that for anyone. But, then, you aren't just anyone. No, you are a fire in her soul. She doesn't even pray for herself that way. So, don't that, don't take her, for granted. Not everybody has a girl like that.

No, some only wish they had a girl like that, a girl who prays, a girl who gives all of herself when she talks to God, about them, about you. You have it good when she prays for you, when she cries when she prays for you. Oh, don't take it for granted. She may appear strong, but love, you could kill her. It wouldn't take much. You both cause and cure her. And she delights in that, because you help her to fix herself. You help her fight the part of her she hates the most. But she doesn't tell you because she's afraid you'll leave. Because you're not that guy, you've been hurt and you feel like you are too damaged to be of any good to her. You keep forgetting she's been to hell and back a few times. If you'd ever just sit and let her talk, you'd see she is no stranger to pain, heartache and suffering.

Hers is different than yours, but it's soul crushing. The fact that she has any faith left in God is a miracle in itself. Don't take her for granted. She is a different kind of beauty and love. The kind you won't find easy, but the kind that will never have you question that its true. She is the sunshine you seek on a rainy day and the shade you long for when the sun beats down and takes a toll on you. She is the girl who stands before God in the most humble of ways and prays out loud to him for you. She is the girl who would come to you at any hour of the day or night, but you know that. Don't take her for granted. She is the one who will always be in your corner, and would have always been there, had the two of you taken a different path.

So, if she cries when she prays, when she prays for you, know that she doesn't pray like that. Know that when she prays she's quiet. But then when she prays for you she opens her mouth and lets the words come out. She gives you more than your used to, and she knows that still scares you, even if only a little. But she also knows she's real, and that the two of you connect on a different level. She's faithful, even though she isn't technically yours. She's honest when she doesn't have to be. She's a place you can be you, because she can see more than the man you show the world. She's seen it with her own eyes. She stays and prays because that's what she wants to do. So, don't take that for granted. Remember, she's never done that for anyone. And she doesn't even pray for herself that way.
