Soulmates

As long as I can remember everyone has had half of a necklace, tasked to find their soulmates. My parents found each other, my aunt found her husband all because of the necklaces. Some people say the closer you get to your soulmate the warmer your necklace gets. I guess i'll find out soon enough.

I don't really get all the fuss about those damn necklaces. I don't even know if they really work. I guess my twin brother Ethan found his "soulmate" Emma. But I don't really know how really know how reliable these things are. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

I start college in a week or so, so I decide to enjoy my last stress free days by going to the beach. So I changed and drove off. When I got there my necklace started getting warm. I decided it was probably because of the weather. I got out of the car and laid out my towel. Then I just relaxed.

After an hour I decided I was gonna get ice cream because the necklace was still warm and I wanted to cool down. I walked down the boardwalk to the ice cream shop. When I got to the shop there was this really cute guy and he was staring at me. So I waved at him. And he waved back. Suddenly, my necklace startedburning. I just decided to forget about it and went to order my ice ream.

"Hey welcome to Lou's Ice Cream Shop! What would you like?"

"Um... could I get brownie chocolate ice cream please?"

"Alright! Your order will be ready soon. What is the name for your order?"

"Leila."

"Ok."

"GRAY WAKE UP!" I hear my brother Ethan yell.

"Alright, alright I'm going."

I walk downstairs to see my brother and his girl Emma making breakfast.

"Good morning!" said Emma.

"Hey! So what are you guys doing today?"

"We're going to the mall," replied Emma.

"Do you wanna come?" asked Emma, as Ethan gave her an annoyed look.

"No I don't wan to third wheel."

"Alright."

"I'm gonna go to the beach."

"Ok see you later," Ethan said.

So I went to my room changed and grabbed my stuff. Then, I went to my car and drove off. When I got there my necklace started getting warm. I decided not to think about it. I got my surfboard and went into the ocean. After a while I decided to get ice cream. I walked down the boardwalk and went into the best ice cream shop in town. When I got there my necklace started burning. But I decided it was no big deal. Then, all of a sudden, this beautiful girl walked in. I didn't notice I was staring at her until she waved at me, when she waved I waved back. She went to order her ice cream and I heard her say her name...

What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. I decided I was gonna introduce myself. When I was walking up to her my necklace started burning.

"Hey gorgeous! My name's Grayson"

"Hi! I'm Leila."

"Can i get your number?" I asked.

"Sure."

She wrote it down on a piece of paper and handed it to me.

"Well um... I gotta go" she said.

" Alright I'll text you."

" Ok, see you!"
