7 Emotional Consequences Of Unrequited Love
Everyone has the right to love whomever they wish, and at whatever time, in their life. But love doesn’t start with someone else. It starts inside of us, loving ourselves. If we love someone ‘deeply’, especially when they don't return it, we are actually wanting their love to compensate for the lack of love we feel for ourselves. They would find it off-putting and might actually feel burdened by such emotional responsibility.

"Love makes your soul crawl out from its hiding place." –Zora Neale Hurston Love. What a powerful word. To love and to be loved is the greatest feat in life, don't you agree? I think it's an important and valuable life skill to be able to love and know what love is. Especially when times are tough, you tend to turn to love for support. The world is like a pendulum- where it swings from good to bad. There's got to be some from of balance, life can't always be bad but it can't always be good either. When times are tough, remember that. You can be swimming in the bad, hell even drowning in it, but you have to remember that those with good hearts always win in the end. The good will always outweigh the bad in this world. Being lonely can be hard, and I think that when you get lonely you open yourself up to the wrong types of love. The loneliness you experience is just utter desperation. When you're sad and you're lonely you feel like it's going to last forever, but it won't. You hold so much power to pull yourself out of that pit of despair. Look inside yourself to find that love you're so desperate to find in someone else, that's the real journey. Falling in love with who you are, is the greatest adventure anyone can ever take on. We as a society are so fixated on soulmates and finding that "one true" but in reality we are just looking to have someone love us. You can avoid the painful process of losing yourself in a relationship by falling in love with YOURSELF first and watching the world fall in love with your light second. That's where a relationship comes in- at least in my mind anyways. If you can't be happy with yourself you're not going to find that in a relationship. The only person that's going to save you from the pit of despair is yourself. Self-love is important, I wrote a post about this about a month ago. Most people have no true understanding of who they are or they let other people and their small minded opinions define them. But you can flip the switch. You have a choice in this. You get to decide who deserves to be loved by you and who doesn't. That's a part of self-love. When someone truly doesn't deserve your love, you'll know. And you'll know not to pour into cups that don't pour back into your own.

That Night.....Part 6
"Thank you for the dance," Sean says awkwardly. He didn't know what else to say in that moment. It's now 2am, the bar is closing, and he hasn't kissed her. Without realizing it, he and Zara had danced for about an hour and a half straight. Sean had ample opportunity to join his lips to hers but he had an urge to take his time. He had been enjoying the build of the anticipation, and his ego wanted to build the anticipation so much that this woman would practically be begging him to kiss her. He wonders if Zara is the type to beg for anything. He realizes it might have been a mistake to play the long game. As soon as the house lights came on and the vibe was interrupted, Zara reverted right back to the distant, half-interested posture she'd had when he first introduced himself.
