Why do we Dream?
The inquiry into the purpose of dreaming remains one of life's great unanswered questions, given that individuals spend approximately six years of their lives in a dream state. It is no wonder that people seek to understand why they dream. While there are theories, there is no clear consensus on why humans dream. Dreams are enigmatic, and for many, they hold great significance. Individuals often share their dreams with others, attempting to interpret their secret and hidden meanings. However, the question remains: do dreams hold any real meaning?
Why do we create art?
“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time. The mind that responds to the intellectual and spiritual values that lie hidden in a poem, a painting, or a piece of music, discovers a spiritual vitality that lifts it above itself, takes it out of itself, and makes it present to itself on a level of being that it did not know it could ever achieve.” Thomas Merton, No Man Is an Island

It serves as a means of strengthening oneself for enduring peace of mind. However, it requires effort and often entails sacrifice. The stoic's task is to discern what is within our control and what is not, recognizing that the only aspect within our control is our response to events, not the events themselves.

In the heart of a small town nestled among rolling hills, lived a young woman named Eliza. She had always dreamed of a life beyond the confines of her familiar surroundings. The vibrant colors of the world beckoned her, and the whisper of the wind carried tales of greener pastures far and wide.Eliza's days were spent amidst the fields and meadows, tending to her family's modest farm. She would often steal moments to gaze at the horizon, her heart swelling with aspirations that reached beyond the horizon. Her family and friends loved her dearly, but they couldn't help but notice the faraway look in her eyes, the spark of dreams that lit up her spirit. One day, as the sun dipped below the horizon and painted the sky with hues of orange and gold, Eliza gathered her courage and shared her deepest longing with her grandmother, a wise woman who had seen countless seasons come and go. With a gentle smile, her grandmother nodded and said, "Child, the world is vast and full of wonders. Your dreams are the wings that will carry you to the places your heart desires."Inspired by her grandmother's words, Eliza set forth on a journey to turn her hopes into reality. With a heart brimming with optimism, she bid farewell to her family and the hills she had known since childhood. Her path led her through bustling cities and tranquil villages, across rivers and mountains. Along the way, she encountered people who became her mentors, friends, and companions in her pursuit of greener pastures. As days turned into weeks, Eliza's eyes were opened to the beauty and complexity of the world. She marveled at the diversity of cultures and traditions, and with each encounter, her aspirations grew stronger. Yet, the journey was not without its challenges. She faced moments of doubt and loneliness, missing the familiar embrace of her family and the comfort of the hills she once called home.During one particularly trying day, when rain poured down like tears from the sky, Eliza sought refuge in a small cafe. There, she met a kind old man named Luca, who seemed to carry the weight of years upon his shoulders. As they spoke, Eliza learned that Luca had once been a dreamer like her, setting out to find his own greener pasture. However, life had led him down unexpected paths, and he had found himself rooted in the very place he had once hoped to leave.Luca's story touched Eliza's heart, and she realized that the pursuit of greener pastures wasn't just about physical places; it was about finding a sense of fulfillment and contentment within oneself. With newfound wisdom, she continued her journey, cherishing each step and every encounter. Finally, after months of travel, Eliza found herself in a picturesque coastal town. The salty breeze carried the promise of a new beginning, and the waves whispered tales of adventures yet to come. She decided to stay a while, immersing herself in the rhythm of the ocean and the warmth of the community.Over time, Eliza's skills as a farmer caught the attention of the locals. With their support and her unwavering determination, she transformed a neglected patch of land into a thriving garden, bursting with colors and life. The garden became a symbol of her journey, a testament to her hope and aspiration that had blossomed into reality.News of Eliza's garden spread, drawing travelers and seekers from near and far. Luca, who had become a dear friend, visited her once more. He marveled at the vibrant beauty she had created and said, "My dear, you've discovered the true essence of greener pastures. It's not just a place; it's a state of heart and mind, a place where you find purpose and joy."As years passed, Eliza's garden flourished, and so did her sense of belonging. She had found her greener pasture, not in a distant land, but within the depths of her own being. Her story became an inspiration to all who heard it, a reminder that hope and aspiration were the driving forces that led to the most beautiful destinations of all.And so, under the open sky and amidst the vibrant blooms, Eliza's journey continued. With every sunrise and every sunset, she carried with her the wisdom of the hills, the lessons of the road, and the realization that the most profound greener pastures were the ones she had nurtured in her heart.

Unraveling the Misunderstood Complexity of the Dyslexic Brain
Similar to the intricate and mind-bending creations of artist M.C. Escher, there's an undeniable allure in an impossible figure—a three-dimensional object that tantalizingly appears plausible on screen but defies real-world existence. In stark contrast, another image represents a feasible entity, capable of materializing in our tangible reality. The year 2001 witnessed an unconventional experiment involving such images. Individuals, both with and without dyslexia, undertook the task of identifying which illustrations were irrevocably impossible. Intriguingly, those with dyslexia exhibited a remarkable ability to promptly discern these paradoxical visuals. This link between dyslexia and an exceptional global visual spatial aptitude emerged—shifting the spotlight from focusing on parts to processing the entire image.
