How many times has this happened to you? You meet a guy, you guys hang out for a bit, go on a couple dates. You're really liking this guy and the feeling seems mutual, right? Then all of a sudden BAM! He disappears, or has every excuse in the book as to why he won't hang out with you anymore. Sounds familiar right? I know the feeling, it's happened to me plenty of times, too. Fortunately though, I've learned from my mistakes and was able to eventually avoid the guys that were giving me hell, and I'm here to help you do the same. Here are five types of guys you need to avoid immediately!

1. The Know It All

We all know a guy who's smart, right? Well, there's a fine line between being smart and thinking that you know everything there is to know about everything. The problem with a guy who thinks he knows everything is he constantly seems like he's undermining you. Everything you say, he has a rebuttal, or something to correct, or add. I've had my run in with a few of these so called "know it alls" and I had to stop myself from throwing my drink in their faces during dinner, or screaming at them to shut up in a crowded place. These dates are the only ones where I genuinely enjoyed the awkward silences. Avoid at all costs, especially if you hate being wrong like I do.

2. The Scrolling Socialite

Right now in 2017, technology is ruling the world. There is one thing above all other technology though, and that is our smart phones. iPhone or Android, everyone has one, and some people just don't know when to put them down. Ever been out on a date and the person has their phone in their hand the whole time? It's like HELLOOO?! I'm here, I'm an actual person! I once snatched this guy's phone from him and put it in my bag so he'd have an actual conversation with me, he got upset at me and stormed out like a toddler who got its candy taken away. If he'd get upset at having to live in reality for an hour date, imagine how he'd react over other things. Red flags people, red flags.

3. The Babbling Banshee

"Yeah, I totally agr-" "I've heard of that before, isn't it som-" "Well I'm 24, I live in Sacram-" Have you ever been sitting across from someone that won't let you get a word out? Pondering your brain on when it'll finally be your time to form a complete sentence? Been there, done that. It's not fun having to wait for any slight pause you hear in their speech pattern, then try to bombard your way into the conversation. I feel like people aren't really listening to me when this happens. What if I have vital information for you? For example, I could be trying to warn you that if you don't let me get a word in, I'll "accidentally" spill my red wine all over your pristine white button up.

4. The Silencer

On the other side of the spectrum, there's the silent type. These are the ones that only ask you questions. By the end of the date they know your whole life story and all you know is their name. Be careful of these types because they're typically sneaky, gaining information from you but not returning it back. They sometimes can be manipulative also. Be safe out here kids, don't share too much information on yourself the first date!

5. The Rusher

Great things can't be rushed, am I right? I absolutely can't stand when people rush me, it makes me feel not as important as I should. Whether I'm talking, working, or whatever, don't rush me. I don't know if this is a tactic guys use to seem more important or not but it doesn't work; especially on a date. This is a time to get to know one another so what's the hurry? I feel like people who rush usually rush multiple aspects of their life, including love life, and that could be a disaster.

Well, I've given you my guidebook. It's up to you to use it correctly, ultimately avoiding these types of men all together will greatly improve your dating life. Stop trying to think you can fix their faults and just leave them alone, it's less stress in the long run. You're now on your way to lifelong commitment!
