To Live & Date in LA

To Live and Die in LA sounds better.

To live and die in LA, it's the place to be as Tupac said it best....maybe to live and to die in LA, yes ...but to date in LA is a definite no! Ask anyone who’s ever lived in LA, they’ll tell you, it’s suicide. Being single in LA doesn't even exist, you're either married or part of a clique, like a Hells Angels singles gang that took you in and under its wing when some asshole broke your heart and left you to drown in your own tears. They took you in and nursed your broken heart back to health with drink binging and club hopping. Each squad is solid, a true team, they are always there for one another and you can be certain, there is never a dull moment.

Saturday night debauchery followed by Sunday pool parties and brunches, plus or minus a nap and then on to more late night debauchery. You're not just friends, you're family. Miss the feeling of having a boyfriend or girlfriend? Have no fear, the solution is but a mere swipe away. Just download one of the many available dating apps right to your phone and mind fuck as many fucks as you can stand talking to at one time, then disappear the moment shit gets real. Problem solved!

Stroke your ego by counting the number of people you've matched with, having a new match is like having your number called out during bingo. You're young and free as a bird, go out and have fun, get numbers from girls you're never gonna call and have a merry old time with your bottle service and bottle service groupies. They should just call it “swag service” instead of bottle service, a service that makes you feel like you have swag by helping you get girls. It’s just a fancy way of saying here’s an allocated space of the nightclub where you can get girls drunk to hang out with you so you can feel like your a somebody. How not shallow at all. Soon as that bottles empty though, so is your table of groupies. Unless of course you're lucky enough to get the girl drunk enough to go home with you. Now that’s what you call swag!

That is what dating in LA is like. Super shallow, all surface and no depth. Try getting close to someone in LA, you have better chances of shooting down a tiger with a tranquilizer gun and getting close to that tiger than you do with a Los Angelino. Maybe that’s why all the guys on these dating apps have a profile picture with a hungover tiger.

Chivalry has been replaced with dick pictures and Instagram photos of other people's relationships has replaced the need for having one of your own. A guy will go through all this trouble to "court" a girl, take her out and feed her bullshit until he gets her into bed and regardless of how great the sex was will never talk to her again, will be on to the next girl before he's even had a chance to wash the sheets. These days quality doesn’t mean shit, it’s all about quantity. Look around you, it’s a numbers world, all about getting those numbers to rise- Instagram followers, likes, YouTube views, Facebook friends, conversions etc. Those numbers give you instant gratification, and that’s all you really need. Life is about being in the present moment, and there’s nothing more present than instant.

Looking for love in LA may leave you high and dry but the city itself will capture your heart. There is no other place in the world like the city of Angels, with its beautiful beaches, mountain view’s, and the most amazing weather 300 days out of the year. Miles and miles of things to see and places to go, LA always has something for you to do. LA is considered the creative capital of the world, with every 1out of 6 LA residents working in the arts. It may be hard to find love in LA but between you and the city it will be love at first sight!
