You Never Have to Say "I Love You"

How the Little Things Show Us They Truly Care

Love.

It's only a four letter word and yet it's meaning is very strong. Using it in a sentence is even stronger. And that's why it's such a big deal the first time you say, "I love you," to your partner because the meaning of the sentence is really strong.

It is the one thing we all ask for in life. Whether it'd be between friends, family or a significant other, it's something we all need in order to survive and live as a happy human being.

But when it comes to significant others, we always have a question rolling in our heads, "How do I really know they love me?"

The answer is really simple. Of course, it always gives me butterflies when my boyfriend says those three simple words to me.

"I love you."

It makes anyone feel great when it's legit and coming from your one and only; but you don't have to say, "I love you," in order to show someone you care. Why is that you may ask? Well, this is where the phrase, "It's the little things that matter," comes into play.

If you're still questioning as to what your significant other could be doing to say, "I love you," without actually saying it, think about your everyday life with your partner.

Do they shamelessly kiss you in public? Not caring about what anybody thinks or says about it? Do they grab you my the waist and hold you close in the store? They're not afraid showing how they truly feel about you to the world.

How about when you wake up in the morning? Do their arms wrap around you? Do they even do something as simple as putting their hand on you, just so they can make contact with you? You look over and they're smiling knowing you're awake and waking up next to you. They want to be close to you.

Remember when you were sick? And you couldn't even get out of bed? Did they bring home a sick kit with soup and medicine? Did they go out of their way to wipe the sweat off your forehead? How about when you were so weak, that they helped you into the shower? Were they constantly by your side? They don't ever want to see you in pain and want you get better.

Have you come home from a long day of work and they insisted on giving you a message? They did your chores for you so you could just relax, even if they might have been tired themselves? They don't want you to overwork yourself.

They support you in everything you do, even if they don't quite agree or understand your decisions. Yet, they will tell you their true feelings to keep you of trouble if they think it's a bad decision.

They lift your spirits. They build your confidence. No matter how many times you fall down, they catch you to help you right back up.

Every time they smile at you;

Every time they take your hand;

Every time they kiss you;

Every time they do something for you;

Every time they take time to listen to you;

It's the little things that truly matter and show that they love you. They've seen you at your worst and yet they push through the darkness to pull your best you out when everyone else is running away.

You help them become a better version of themselves. And you want nothing more than to do all of these things for them as well.

So remember this when they hand you coffee in the morning or holds your hand in public. They're simply telling you they love you.
