I am dating a YouTuber! True story! Like right now I'm listening to him record as I type away at this story! I want to tell you all about how we met and what it's like living with a YouTuber on a day to day basis. Like any other job, it has its ups and downs but he is happy and loves what he does, which makes me happy! Here’s our story!

Where to start? Well, I guess a year and a half ago! That when he first messaged me on POF! No, I'm not ashamed that I met a guy online. It was honestly the best thing that ever happened to me. Unlike the other guys who messaged "dtf?," he said: “Hey I'm (anonymous), what's your favorite movie?” And that's how we started. It’s been great ever since.

He wants to remain anonymous, so I will continue to refer to him as he or him.

We had talked for a month before the meeting, and we learned as much as we could before our face to face meeting. When we actually met he came to my place. He lived an hour away from me and I couldn't believe that he would drive for that long to see me but he did and I'm so glad. Now I wouldn't say it was love at first sight but I did think he is so cute. He was shorter than I expected and he's really skinny was also one of my first thoughts. Anyway, I invited him in and we were both so shy and had such anxiety that it was very awkward but we managed to talk a little and then sit down and watch a show we had been watching at the same time every night for a while. We got along good and decided to see where this could go. Here I am today living with him!

Now at first, he said that he was doing online marketing so I had no idea that he was actually playing games for YouTube. When he did tell me I was like ok why didn't you just tell me that to begin with? His response was people think YouTubers make a lot of money, which they don't unless you have millions of followers, and I didn't want you to date me because of my money. Now if you ask me I totally agree with his point, a lot of people can be shady like that, I am not, I would be with him even if he didn't have a penny to his name. He is an amazing guy and he makes me incredibly happy.

I believe he is good at what he does. He plays lots of different games either by himself or with other YouTubers, recording the process than editing them into awesome videos for YouTube. His games are set for viewers of all ages, which means they are not to gory or gruesome and he doesn't swear. He actually doesn't swear much at all anyway and when he does it’s very weird. He works 12 hours a day and sometimes more.

So let's talk about living with a YouTuber! This is all from my point of view and what I see every day, well when I am not working myself. I am not him so I can't tell you his side. He gets to work from home, we wake up around 7:30 AM almost every morning, I send my kid off to school and then get his cute butt outta bed to go to work. His days start around 8 AM, he will have one maybe two videos to edit and he has to record. He records 2-3 videos a day and when he is recording we all have to be quiet. We live in small quarters so when he's recording I tiptoe around so I don't make loud noises and possibly ruin a video. Luckily for me, he tries to have his videos recorded for when my son gets outta school. That way my son doesn't have to worry about it cause he a kid and he can be very loud. I don't mind being quiet, I can still watch tv and go about my day easily but that can be a little stressful for a kid. When he is recording I can hear him, sometimes I listen to his goofy character playing games and sometimes I ignore him and watch tv or read my book. I read a lot and am usually quiet so having to be quiet for his recordings really don't bother me.

While he is editing it's totally different I don't have to worry about making loud noises. I can cook listen to music on my stereo and run the vacuum to clean. No problems there. But I do worry lots about ruining a video when he's recording so, I am as quiet as possible.

He puts a lot of effort into his videos, and he takes his time so they run from about 3-6 hour to edit. His friends can edit their videos in an hr and post them the same day but he really likes to take his time. I believe being a YouTuber is hard work, it’s harder than any normal job. He has to push himself to get his work done, he decides what to post and when and has to make up the storylines in some games. I see that it can be stressful.

Then there's what he does when he's not creating and editing videos. Comments! He's looking at comments and replying. So we will be cuddling on the couch and will be replying to comments. I just have to say I don't know how he handles it, sometimes he gets really mean comments from people and I'm just sitting there like are you ok and he's all yes I just shake it off. But come on people, didn't your mom ever teach you if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all???!!! Sometimes the comments upset me and he's just there laughing like its nothing. I am glad he has a thick skin and can handle when people decide to get mean. I really don't know if I could!

Now when he's not recording, editing or replying to comments he is talking to his YouTube friends about what they should record next. SO he his literally working all-day, every day! He doesn't take days off unless there very planned ahead and he has videos pre-recorded and edited. Don't even get me started on when that happens. Laugh out loud!

Buuuuut none of this bothers me. He's happy and he loves his job, it's important to love what you do. I get to see him lots throughout the day, he comes out to let me know he's going to record and I get kisses and hugs. He comes out to tell me he's done and I get kisses and hugs. We're very affectionate people! Can ya tell?? Haha. If I am missing him or want kisses I can go in his room and see him. Obviously, he has his own office to work in peace. But not when he's recording of course. And no we don't get sick of each other. We may be around each other all day every day but we don't spend every second together. He plays other games with his friends sometimes that aren't recorded and for his own enjoyment and I like relaxing alone doing my own thing.

Living with a YouTuber is like living with any other person you are dating. YouTube is their job/passion and he happens to be home all the time. I can say I'm super proud of him for working so hard and keeping up with YouTube. I hope he continues this until he can retire.

Thanks for reading!
