Bea' s Boredom
It mattered to Bea that she wasn’t discovered until it was too late to turn back. She laughed at the thought, secure in the knowledge there was nothing a human could do to harm her. She sat back in the rear of the hold and munched an apple absentmindedly, trying to figure out why she wanted to remain hidden.

Kore'aka
Before time began, Kore'aka was. When he participated in the formation of the cosmos, still he was. He was a benevolent god, or so he liked to think. All he asked for was worship, a devoted high priest, and a new girl every year. Kore'aka liked girls. He thought they were his finest creation. Well, creations. There are quite a lot of them. Not infants though. He might have been a rather odd god, but nobody should be that odd. He liked them between 18 and 23 years old, opinionated, strong willed, but pliable enough to bend to the will of a deity. Oh, and they had to be virgins. No self-respecting god would accept a girl who wasn't a virgin. And they had to be absolutely gorgeous to be his. Anything less than exquisite was an affront.

Pod
“Morning, my loves!” Ultramarine said brightly. It was 6:35 am Earth time, she observed as she pottered about the pods, checking vitals, adding a little fluid here, reducing feed there, initialising an auto groom in another pod. She had no idea how to tell the time in the expanse of space, so having an atomic clock that told Greenwich Mean Time was a bit of a comfort.

The Kiss
Miranda kissed me. She was always nice to me. She was nice when the other kids in school would make fun of me because I would never talk. She was nice when we left school and I’d see her on my way to work in the morning, even though I still never spoke.

Through Hoops
I have work to do. Telehoop 17.16 is acting up. People of a certain level can afford instantaneous interplanetary travel through Telehoops. They’re developed in clusters, a cluster to a galaxy, not more than twenty hoops to a cluster. I don’t know how the science works, and I don’t have to. I just own the company that builds the things.

Sketch
It was a regular Tuesday. I drew a face. It wasn’t a particularly special face – I just liked it. There are two things about me. I can draw. I can’t paint, but I can draw anything I lay my eyes on. It’s because I have a remarkable memory – which is the second thing.

Please
He noticed the light was on inside when he fumbled his key out of his pocket and slid it in the lock. He smiled, wondering why Sayo was still awake but grateful that she was. He opened the door and she was stood there in her favourite silk dressing gown which was loosely tied around her waist, her hair tied up in a satin scarf, her arms akimbo.
