Burn After Writing
When your life is not a documentary, it is easy for you to move around. So you think, but your conscience is your biggest critic. When you look at yourself in the mirror you pick at every single flaw that someone else may be in fond of. When you mispronounce a word because English is not your native language you instantly get embarrassed; yet, the person listening to you speak is in awe of your intelligence. When you spend majority of your paychecks on food because it helps release serotonin but you are the serotonin to the person eating next to you. Life is full of different perspectives but your entire existence has been convocated by simple mindedness.

Because fear kills everything.
You have been watering your heart’s garden so beautiful feelings may flourish. “I believe in you,” are words that water flowers but they are not blooming. You must seek that place that brings out the human in you, the soul in you, the love in you. “Déjate querer mujer!” I know you are afraid to show the real you but I need you to know that you deserve to be fought for.

To The Boy I've Loved Before
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is probably one of my favorite movies to watch on Netflix. So much that I even got the trilogy books and I’m currently on the sequel – social media has the tendency of ruining any show so I’m glad that this movie is sort of in the shadows.

Somebody Told Me
When I was in New York, I found the inspiration I needed to continue writing. My cousins support my writing, so they were generous enough to buy me two poetry books filled with daily writing prompts. Of course, I haven't been writing in them daily, so I decided to close my eyes and flip the page until it lands on whatever prompt for me to write.

Interracial Dating
I don't discriminate.... but my dating life says otherwise. I have a type that I seem to attract and vice versa. The complexion I go for happens to be in the dark brown range; between Caribbean morenos and/or country morenos. There's no in between. I didn't think much of it growing up, I just found them so damn handsome! I remember in elementary school I had the biggest crush on this Bahamian boy. He had such beautiful pearly whites, dark skin, and gorgeous brown eyes. See, I told y'all my type has been the same since I was a kid.

My Alcohol Addiction
Close your eyes. I want you to imagine this scene in your head. You get woken up by someone you barely know, in a house you’ve never been in, drenched in sweat. You feel like you’re moving in slow motion. Your lips are trying to separate, but your dry throat wants to feel comfort so you swallow the little bit of saliva you create. You’re trying to speak, but your words come out in cursive so you stay quiet and confused. How did I get here? Who are these people? Why is my body shaking?

A Situationship Featuring Me
Today’s blog is a continuation from my previous post. It’s a mixture of personal experiences and fiction—so of course, I had to change scenarios and all names involved. If you know this is about you, please don't say anything, because I will die of embarrassment.

Thought: I Am Not Good Enough
Toxicity—externally—is chugging the bottle of tequila and blacking out at your local bar. It’s numbing out the internal affairs you have with yourself, while explicitly engaging with another empty soul. How is it easier to lay down with temptation while feeling the strokes of regret penetrating? You attempt to fill in empty promises with another human being who is just as lost as you. So, it’s two blind men guiding each other down the yellow brick road, yet not staying in between the lines.
